Olympic bronze medalist Annie Lazor<\/strong> has joined the Florida swimming and diving program as an assistant coach, head coach Anthony Nesty<\/strong> announced Tuesday. After years of swimming competitively at the international level, Lazor will transition to coaching.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to thank Coach Nesty, Mike Spiegler<\/strong>, and the swimming and diving staff for giving me this opportunity to coach at the University of Florida,\u201d Lazor said. \u201cThis historic program continues to push the boundaries of greatness both at the NCAA and international level of the sport, and I cannot wait to work with and learn from high achieving athletes and coaches on a day-to-day basis. I can\u2019t think of a better way to make my transition from one side of the pool deck to the other. Go Gators!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Including her Olympic medal<\/a> in Tokyo, Lazor won six international medals during her professional swimming career, including three golds during the 2019 Pan American championships. A breaststroke specialist, she is one of the top performers all-time in the women\u2019s 200 Breast SCM with a 2:16.33, a top-10 ever recorded time.<\/p>\n

A native of Beverly Hills, Michigan, Annie Lazor started her collegiate career at Ohio State before transferring to Auburn. She was a four-time All-American for the Tigers, graduating with a communications degree in 2016.<\/p>\n
