Stanford University\u2019s Ryan won the men\u2019s. Both winners will compete at this summers World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, as will runners-up <strong>Joslyn Oakley<\/strong> and <strong>Lyle Yost.<\/strong> (The 1-meter springboard is not an Olympic event.)<\/p>\n<p>Hernandez, a Tokyo Olympian in the 3-meter women\u2019s synchro, scored 530.10 points to win gold Saturday at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown, West Virginia. Just 20 years old, Hernandez has won her third 1-meter national title and seventh overall.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/max-weinrich-kaylee-bishop-start-2023-usa-diving-nationals-with-platform-synchro-crown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Max Weinrich, Kaylee Bishop Start 2023 USA Diving Nationals with Platform Synchro Crown<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympic-medalists-jessica-parratto-delaney-schnell-win-at-usa-diving-nationals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Olympic Medalists Jessica Parratto, Delaney Schnell Win at USA Diving Nationals<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/kassidy-cook-sarah-bacon-secure-another-national-title-worlds-spot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kassidy Cook, Sarah Bacon Secure Another National Title, Worlds Spot<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Her score was 28.5 points clear of Oakley, who dives for Texas A&amp;M. <strong>Bridget O\u2019Neil<\/strong> added her second medal of the week in third in 494.15, to go with 3-meter mixed synchro bronze.<\/p>\n<p>Hernandez was 18 points up on a crowded field after prelims. Her 58.50 points on a front two-and-a-half pike was the highest of the competition.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m super excited,\u201d Hernandez <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamusa.org\/USA-Diving\/News\/2023\/May\/20\/Hernandez-and-Ryan-Win-National-Titles-on-1Meter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told USA Diving<\/a>. \u201cIt always feels good to be out there and compete. I\u2019m really happy with the results today, and it gives me good confidence heading into 3-meter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oakley was fourth after prelims before a strong first finals dive moved her into third. She leapt ahead of O\u2019Neil in the final round, executing an identical front one-and-a-half with two twists better.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan earned his second national title of the week, having paired with <strong>Krysta Palmer<\/strong> for the mixed 3-meter synchro crown. Ryan scored 776.90 points, besting the field by more than 30 points. Yost, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-mens-championships-lyle-yost-risks-it-reaps-reward-of-1-meter-crown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the reigning NCAA 1-meter champion at Ohio State<\/a>, finished second with the University of Texas\u2019s <strong>Nick Harris<\/strong> third.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today was good,\u201d Ryan said. \u201cPrelims were super smooth for me. I felt calm and strong all the way through. I was definitely a little shaky in finals. I missed the hurdle on my front 3 \u00bd, but I think I saved it pretty well. The last three dives, I just had to put them down.
