Carlye Ellis<\/strong> has been hired by the United States Naval Academy as an assistant coach to the women\u2019s swimming team, the school announced Thursday.<\/p>\n

Ellis joins the staff of head coach John Morrison<\/strong> after two seasons at Duke<\/a>. She was the recruiting coordinator for the Blue Devils\u2019 women\u2019s team and both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams\u2019 director of operations. Duke\u2019s women\u2019s team finished 21st at NCAAs in 2023 and 24th the year before.<\/p>\n

Ellis is a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan. She won a pair of Big 12 relay titles with the University of Texas and was twice an Honorable Mention All-American at NCAAs in 2009. She graduated from Austin in 2011 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in corporate communications and added master\u2019s degrees in sport administration from Valparaiso in 2015 and organizational communications from Ohio in 2021.<\/p>\n

Ellis began coaching as a grad assistant at Valpo in 2013, the lone assistant for both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s team. She joined Cornell as a women\u2019s assistant in 2015 for three years before three seasons at the University of Ohio, as the Bobcats assistant coach, recruiting coordinator and director of operations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
