Photo Courtesy: Swimming NSW.<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019ve been 48.00 seconds twice this year and tonight I set myself a target to go under but I didn\u2019t t think I\u2019d dip that far under, that\u2019s a massive win for me,\u201d said an elated Chalmers, who heads to Darwin tomorrow for a pre-Australian Trials camp under coach Peter Bishop. (The Trials will be swum in Melbourne from June 13-18)<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThat\u2019s probably the fastest I\u2019ve swum \u2018in season\u2019 in a very long time. Normally at this time of the year I don\u2019t race and I\u2019m in a massive hole so it\u2019s nice to be racing and it\u2019s nice to be racing fast, (as you can tell) I\u2019m very happy with that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s obviously a good starting point moving into Trials. Photo Courtesy: Swimming NSW<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And then it was back over to McKeown who was back in the water showing her wares off again, this time in her specialist 100m backstroke, clocking a slick 58.33 \u2013 a time only herself (the world rankings leader on 57.84) and US rival <strong>Regan Smith<\/strong> (57.90) have bettered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, rising New Zealand teenager <strong>Erika Fairweather <\/strong>continued to re-enforce her enormous potential, adding the 200m freestyle with a powerful back end to take the win in 1.55.80 (57.24) \u2013 a time just outside her best of 1:55.44 \u2013 which ranks her sixth in the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fairweather edged in front on the final turn to swim away with the win from early leader <strong>Madison Wilson <\/strong>(Marion, SA) 1:56.71 with <strong>Lani Pallister<\/strong> (Griffith University, QLD) 1:57.35 third.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The men\u2019s 200m butterfly saw Commonwealth Games representative <strong>Bowen Gough<\/strong> (Griffith University, QLD) hold on, getting to the wall in 1:57.94 ahead of the fast finishing <strong>William Petric <\/strong>(Nunawading, VIC) 1:59.23 and <strong>Harrison Turner<\/strong> (Chandler, QLD) 1:59.48.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SOPAC\u2019s <strong>Matthew Galea<\/strong> scored an impressive 800m freestyle win in 8:02.14 from <strong>Thomas Hauck<\/strong> (All Saints, QLD) 8:05.86 and <strong>Zac Reid<\/strong> (Neptune, NZ) 8:11.56.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The women\u2019s 1500m freestyle went to Carlile\u2019s Tokyo Olympian <strong>Madeleine Gough,<\/strong> representing Bond University, QLD in 16:12.69 from her fellow Australian open water representative for this year\u2019s World Championships, Yeronga Park\u2019s <strong>Chelsea Gubecka<\/strong> (Uni of QLD) 16:34.72 with <strong>Tayla Martin<\/strong> (Carlile, NSW) third in 17:03.47.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While in Multi-Class action it was Blacktown\u2019s world record breaking Paralympian <strong>Timothy Hodge<\/strong> (Western Sydney University, NSW) who was amongst the winners, taking out the men\u2019s 400m freestyle in 4:18:56.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hodge was joined by <strong>Katja Dedekind<\/strong> (Griffith University, QLD) who won the women\u2019s 50 and 400m freestyle double in 27.71 and 4:38.27 respectively;
