{"id":528301,"date":"2023-05-09T13:17:16","date_gmt":"2023-05-09T20:17:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=528301"},"modified":"2023-05-09T13:17:16","modified_gmt":"2023-05-09T20:17:16","slug":"world-university-games-u-s-roster-announced-led-by-megan-van-berkom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-university-games-u-s-roster-announced-led-by-megan-van-berkom\/","title":{"rendered":"World University Games: U.S. Roster Announced, Led by Megan Van Berkom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The rosters for the 2023 World University Games (WUGs) has been announced by the coaching staff and officials for the games.<\/p>\n<p>The team was selected by director<strong> Ian Quinn<\/strong> and coaches <strong>Peter Richardson<\/strong> and <strong>Jacy Dyer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The team was selected outside of USA Swimming, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insidethegames.biz\/articles\/1118527\/usa-swimming-plan-to-miss-chengdu-2021\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">which had previously indicated it would not focus on the Chengdu Games<\/a>, and instead by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fisu.net\/fisu\/member-associations-nusf\/america\/america\/united-states-of-america-usa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the United States International University Sports Federation<\/a>. He spent three seasons as the associate head coach at the University of Arizona, leading among others, Brooks Fail. Richardson was a former head coach at the University of the Pacific for seven seasons and led Fresno Pacific to three NAIA titles in five seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Jacy Dyer is the reigning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference coach of the year for her work as the head coach at Fairfield University. The Stags women\u2019s team captured the 2023 MAAC title and the men were fourth. Dyer is a former assistant\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/jacy-dyer-joins-virginia-tech-coaching-staff\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at Virginia Tech for four seasons<\/a>, the last as the associate head coach.
