He has joined MedLife as an Ambassador of Hope through its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medlife.ro\/comunicat-de-presa\/gest-deosebit-al-lui-david-popovici-multiplul-campion-la-natatie-donat-medalia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#SperantaNuMoareDeCancer campaign<\/a>. (It translates to \u201cHope doesn\u2019t die of cancer\u201d or, as Popovici <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CryQ1lmIMN_\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted to his Instagram account<\/a>, \u201cHope is immune to cancer\u201d.)<\/p>\n<p>Popovici was part of a video production on the donation.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6pIFOPl2Lj4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Popovici\u2019s donation is, in his words, a donation of hope, to children battling cancer. The metal from his medal will be shaped into more than 100 gold bows to be given to children who have beaten cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The MedLife campaign is aimed at expanding access to pediatric cancer testing and genetic screening, which can be used to tailor cancer treatments to each individual\u2019s condition. MedLife is the largest provider of private medical services in the Romanian health care system, founded three decades ago. It is funding the #SperantaNuMoareDeCancer initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Popovici won gold in 200 free at Worlds last year in a world junior record time. He would later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/flash-david-popovici-sets-200-free-textile-world-record-of-142-97-also-wjr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">set the
