They were the two leading scorers for the Cardinal at the NCAA championships.<\/p>\n<p>That leaves Huske, who just signed an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/torri-huske-signs-nil-agreement-with-wme-sports-will-remain-at-stanford\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NIL agreement<\/a>, with two more years of eligibility following the Olympic year and Curzan still will have three years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s a decision that came from a lot conversations weighing out the pros and cons; ultimately we feel like this will put them in the best possible position heading into U.S. Olympic Trials,&#8221; Stanford coach Greg Meehan told Swimming World. &#8220;The plan at this point is for them stay enrolled in school for the Fall Quarter before taking an academic leave of absence in the Winter and Spring. We have done this before and understand how much it will impact our NCAA performance next year. At the same time they know how much their teammates support this decision as well as Stanford\u2019s long history of supporting student-athletes in all sports to pursue the Olympic movement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Both swimmers were Olympians in Tokyo, taking the two U.S. spots in the 100 butterfly. Huske was the Olympic silver medalist, while Curzan was 10th. Both swimmers claimed silver in the 400 medley relay for the U.S. as well.<\/p>\n<p>It will certainly take a hit on Stanford&#8217;s scoring next year, especially with the departure of fifth-year senior Taylor Ruck, the two-time NCAA champion in the 200 free. The three stars were on most of the Stanford relays as well.<\/p>\n<p>Curzan won the 200 backstroke and Huske was a runner-up in the 100 butterfly and 200 IM.
