Following Success In Senior Waters<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Amelie Blocksidge<\/strong> has been selected to the British team for the <strong>European Junior Championships<\/strong> in Belgrade, weeks after marking her 14th birthday by going eighth all-time in the domestic 1500 rankings.<\/p>\n<p>The teenager will be joined on the 34-strong team by <strong>Leah Schlosshan<\/strong>, the sole British champion at the 2022 edition in Otopeni, Romania, last year after winning the 200IM.<\/p>\n<p>Schlosshan will compete in the Serbian capital from 4-9 July <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/european-commonwealth-medallists-among-british-team-of-18-set-for-len-u23-european-championships\/\">before heading to Dublin<\/a> for the <strong>LEN European U23 Championships<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Britain won 11 medals in Otopeni and, as well as Schlosshan, fellow medallists\u00a0<strong>Matthew Ward<\/strong>, <strong>Evie Dilley<\/strong>, <strong>Ashleigh Baillie<\/strong>, <strong>Erin Little<\/strong> and <strong>Reuben Rowbotham-Keating<\/strong> will travel to Belgrade.<\/p>\n<p>Blocksidge<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/live-british-championships-day-6-finals-dean-scott-guy-richards-among-top-quality-200-free-final\/\"> won the 1500 at the <strong>British Championships<\/strong> earlier this month<\/a> in 16:19.67, earning a standing ovation from the spectators at Ponds Forge.<\/p>\n<p>It was a 12-second PB for Blocksidge &#8211; coached by <strong>John Stout<\/strong> at <strong>City of Salford<\/strong> &#8211; and the 16th-fastest time by a British woman and followed silver in the 800 in 8:38 and fifth in the 400.<\/p>\n<p>The coaching staff will be headed by <strong>Lisa Bates<\/strong>, who guided <strong>Aimee Willmott<\/strong> to European and Commonwealth podiums.<\/p>\n<p><strong>British Swimming<\/strong> Head of Performance Development <strong>Alan Lynn<\/strong> said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe British Swimming Championships allowed our junior swimmers to showcase the best of their abilities ahead of what will be another productive year for those looking to make their way into the senior teams\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have selected a strong team with experience from across the junior competitions, who will all be aiming to move their performances on in what will be an unfamiliar arena in Belgrade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to seeing what they can do just one year out from Paris and five years out from LA 2028.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"main__container\">\n<article class=\"article__content\">\n<div class=\"article__body\">\n<div
