TEXAS&#8217; Michael Hixon completed an exciting one-meter diving finale with an NCAA title at the NCAA Division I Men&#8217;s Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Hixon collected 443.50 points, while Stanford&#8217;s Kristian Ipsen took second with 436.55 point. Defending Diver of the Year Nick McCrory of Duke took third overall with 412.14 points.<\/p>\n<p>Missouri&#8217;s David Bonuchi (405.96), Texas&#8217; Cory Bowersox (403.95), Arizona&#8217;s Rafael Quintero (393.15), Miami&#8217;s Samuel Dorman (379.00) and Arizona State&#8217;s Riley McCormick (364.55) snatched the rest of the finishes in the championship finale.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s Texas&#8217; 10th victory in the one-meter all time, tying them with Indiana for the second-most wins in the event&#8217;s history. Ohio State&#8217;s unreal dominance in the 30s, 40s, 50, 60s and 70s have the Buckeyes leading with 28 wins.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To have it here at home is so special,&#8221; Hixon said. \u00a0&#8220;The whole swim team around the pool. I cannot describe it.\u00a0That crowd has our back right now. That\u2019s pushing us and that\u2019s great. There are a lot of great teams here, so it\u2019s not that much of an advantage.\u00a0We have a goal to be the best diving team in the country. It\u2019s going pretty well right now, I think. We still have three-meter and tower so we\u2019re going to keep proving ourselves. I think it\u2019s a testament to how good coach Matt Scoggin is in this sport.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Utah&#8217;s Josiah Purss claimed the consolation final earlier today with 368.00 points. Virginia Tech&#8217;s Ryan Hawkins (363.35) and Tennessee&#8217;s Mauricio Robles-Rodriguez (358.20) took second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Auburn&#8217;s Fraser McKean (351.90), Auburn&#8217;s John Santeiu (349.20), Missouri&#8217;s Clark Thomas (338.60), Stanford&#8217;s Brad Christensen (319.20) and Indiana&#8217;s Emad Abdelatif (317.55) also scored team points this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Texas hit the team points hard, moving to the top of the team scores after the event.<\/p>\n<p><b>Team Standings<\/b><br \/>\n1.
