Ana Rodrigues Twice Lowers 50 Breaststroke Mark"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Diogo Ribeiro Sets Portuguese 100 Fly Record Of 51.45; Ana Rodrigues Twice Lowers 50 Breaststroke Mark<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Diogo Ribeiro<\/strong> continued to rewrite the history books when he lowered the national 100 fly record to 51.45 at the <strong>Portugal Open<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fpnatacao.pt\/Resultados\/provas2223\/11cnjuvabsOPEN\/index_us.html\">Link to results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/diogo-ribeiro-rewriting-the-record-books-at-the-portugal-open-goes-inside-48-in-100-free\/\">Day 1 repor<\/a>t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The 18-year-old went 51.80 in the prelims, 0.19 outside his Portuguese record of 51.61 in the semis of the <strong>European Championships<\/strong> in Rome last year where he would go on to finish eighth in the final.<\/p>\n<p>He returned in the evening to split 23.89\/27.56 en-route to victory to continue his record-breaking form of the meet that has so far seen him set new standards in the 50 free (21.87) and 100 free (47.98).<\/p>\n<p>Ribeiro contests the 50 fly on Sunday in which he holds the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-junior-championships-diogo-matos-ribeiro-takes-down-50-fly-world-junior-record-for-third-gold-medal\/\">world junior record of 22.96<\/a> from the 2022 world juniors where he won three titles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mariana Cunha<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s event in 59.45.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ana Rodrigues<\/strong>&#8216; 50br record stood at 31.04 since Rome 2022 before she became the first Portuguese woman inside 31 when she went 30.98 in prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Come the finals and she took a further 0.02secs off in 30.96.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alexandre Amorim<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s race in 28.48.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jose Lopes<\/strong> was the only man inside 4mins in the 400 free with a dominant victory in 3:55.39 while <strong>Francisca Martins<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s equivalent in 4:11.02.<\/p>\n<p>That came 24 hours after Martins set a new Portuguese mark of 56.25 in the 100 free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gabriel Lopes<\/strong> was the sole swimmer inside 2mins in the men&#8217;s 200IM in 1:59.29 with <strong>Angelica Andre<\/strong> winning the women&#8217;s title in 2:20.11.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Diogo Cardoso<\/strong> (15:30.36) and <strong>Tamila Holub<\/strong> (16:50.24) were swiftest in their respective men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s 1500 timed finals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Diogo Ribeiro Sets Portuguese 100 Fly Record Of 51.45;
