Summer McIntosh Blasts 2:06.89 200 IM for No. 4 All Time, Canadian Record<\/strong><\/p>\n

Summer McIntosh\u2019s<\/strong> tremendous Bell Canadian Trials entered into rarefied air Thursday night with another national record.<\/p>\n

The star teen went 2:06.89 in the 200 individual medley, lowering her Canadian record and world junior record by more than a second and vaulting to the No. 4 performer in history at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Complex.<\/p>\n

McIntosh had set the record earlier this month at 2:08.08. She was more than a second faster Thursday to earn a spot at worlds.<\/p>\n

The time is fourth all-time, trailing the world record of Katinka Hosszu<\/strong> from 2015 (2:06.12), Ariana Kukors\u2019<\/strong> super-suited American record<\/a> from the 2009 World Championships (2:06.15) and Siobhan-Marie O\u2019Connor\u2019s<\/strong> time of 2:06.88 at the 2016 Rio Olympics.<\/p>\n
