Liendo, who excelled by attacking the front-half of his swims at NCAAs, was out quick in 23.94, then came back in 26.84.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/flash-summer-mcintosh-takes-down-400-freestyle-world-record-with-356-06\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canadian Trials: Summer McIntosh Takes Down 400 Freestyle World Record; Ingrid Wilm Edges Kylie Masse In 100 Backstroke<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/results.swimming.ca\/2023_Bell_Canadian_Trials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bell Canadian Trials Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He set the pace ahead of <strong>Ilya Kharun<\/strong> (52.66) and <strong>Finlay Knox<\/strong> (53.06) in the morning swim. The final will be Thursday night. Liendo has sealed a place in the 2022 World Aquatics Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Liendo was outstanding last week at NCAAs at the University of Minnesota. He finished second in the 100 fly in 43.40 seconds to go with a silver medal in the 50 free. On the final day of the meet, he won <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-mens-championships-josh-liendo-sprints-to-100-free-title\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the 100 free in 40.28 seconds<\/a>, then split 40.66 off the front of the Gators\u2019 winning 400 free relay.
