The Texas sophomore proved it again Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Hobson led the field in the 200 free with a time of 1:30.78, securing the top seed in the final. Second is Cal\u2019s <strong>Gabriel Jett,<\/strong> with <strong>Julian Hill<\/strong> of Arizona State in third.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2023-ncaa-division-i-mens-championships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Page<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2023-ncaa-division-i-mens-psych-sheet\/ncaa-college\/2023\/March\/8?rtn=%2Fresults%2Fall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Psych Sheets<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/swimmeetresults.tech\/NCAA-Division-I-Men-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A swim-off was required to finish out the A final, with <strong>Rafael Miroslaw<\/strong> of Indiana and <strong>Patrick Sammon<\/strong> of Arizona State tied at 1:32.28 for eighth. Sammon dominated that swim-off later in the morning to give the Sun Devils a third swimmer in the A final<strong>. Grant House,<\/strong> last year\u2019s NCAA runner-up and the top seed entering the meet, was third in 1:32.12. ASU has another B finalist in Andrew Gray in 13th.<\/p>\n<p>The finals got a quick start in the third of five heats thanks to <strong>Brooks Curry,<\/strong> who finished fifth last year. In an outside lane, the LSU senior blitzed a 1:31.94 to get into finals in fourth. (He fared better than the swimmer who was a place ahead of him last year, NC State\u2019s <strong>Luke Miller,<\/strong> who went from fourth to 17th this time around.)<\/p>\n<p>Hill won the fourth heat in 1:31.74, a quarter second up on Texas\u2019<strong> Coby Carrozza,<\/strong> who is fifth in 1:32.06 overall. Hobson, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-mens-championships-texas-goes-1-2-with-luke-hobson-david-johnston-in-500-free\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the 500 free champ on Thursday<\/a>, won the fifth heat, with Jett for company.
