USC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kaitlyn Dobler<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-womens-championships-kaitlyn-dobler-aims-to-defend-100-breaststroke-title\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">finished first in a tight 100 breaststroke<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The finals session will include those five events plus 3-meter diving and the 400 medley relay, beginning at 6 p.m. from the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2023-ncaa-womens-championships-day-finals-heat-sheet-ncaa-college-2023-03-17.pdf\">Click here to view full finals heat sheet<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The top-performing team in the morning was Virginia, already leading the team scores by 46.5 points, and the Cavaliers qualified seven championship finalists and two consolation finalists for Friday. In addition to the Walsh sisters,\u00a0<strong>Ella Nelson<\/strong> placed second in the 400 IM, and <strong>Kate Douglass<\/strong> is third in the 100 fly while\u00a0<strong>Aimee Canny<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Maxine Parker\u00a0<\/strong>have A-final swims in the 200 free.\u00a0<strong>Emma Weber<\/strong> snuck into the 100 breast top heat, and the Cavaliers are set to extend their lead over Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford also qualified for nine individual swims in the evening session, with <strong>Claire Curzan<\/strong> set for both the 100 fly and 100 back finals plus\u00a0<strong>Lucy Bell<\/strong> in the 400 IM and\u00a0<strong>Kayla Wilson<\/strong> in the 200 free. The Cardinal, currently in fourth place overall, look set to move into third and potentially second in the evening.<\/p>\n<p>NC State went four up and five down in the morning, with <strong>Grace Sheble<\/strong> (400 IM),\u00a0<strong>Kylee Alons<\/strong> (100 fly),\u00a0<strong>Heather MacCausland\u00a0<\/strong>(100 breast) and\u00a0<strong>Katharine Berkoff<\/strong> (100 back) in the top heats of their respective events. The Wolfpack currently occupy 11th place overall after a disqualification in the 200 free relay Thursday evening. If not for that DQ, NC State would be in fifth position, so head coach\u00a0<strong>Braden Holloway&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>squad will need to continue showing up big to rebound.<\/p>\n<p>Texas will have four A-final swims as well, with\u00a0<strong>Emma Sticklen<\/strong> in the 100 fly,\u00a0<strong>Anna Elendt<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Lydia Jacoby<\/strong> in the 100 breast and\u00a0<strong>Olivia Bray<\/strong> in the 100 back. However,\u00a0<strong>Kelly Pash<\/strong> missing the 200 free A-final by one hundredth was a significant blow for the Longhorns.
