Stanford\u2019s Leon MacAlister Named Pac-12 Men\u2019s Scholar Athlete of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n

Leon MacAlister<\/strong> of Stanford was named the 2022-23 Men\u2019s Swimming and Diving Scholar Athlete in the Pac-12, attached to the conference\u2019s championship meet last weekend<\/a>.<\/p>\n

MacAlister hails from Sydney, Australia. The senior has a GPA of 3.848 and is majoring in economics. He\u2019s a two-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll recipient and has been a four-time College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American.<\/p>\n

In the pool, MacAlister holds Stanford program records in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke. He\u2019s also been part of three program relay records. He\u2019s a five-time All-American. MacAlister was part of two Cardinal relays that won league titles at the 2022 Pac-12 Championships.<\/p>\n

At this year\u2019s Pac-12 Championships<\/a>, MacAlister finished sixth in the 200 back and seventh in the 200 back.<\/p>\n

The Pac-12 each year honors athletes, male and female, in each of the 24 sports the conference sponsors. It recognizes the \u201ccollegiate student-athletes who are standouts both academically and in their sports discipline.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
