Ledecky was well ahead in the following heat and touched the wall in 1:57.13.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the rest of the final is stacked as well. Olympian <strong>Leah Smith<\/strong> took the third spot in 1:58.74, followed by Canada&#8217;s<strong> Ella Jansen<\/strong> (1:59.27), U.S. Olympian <strong>Regan Smith<\/strong> (1:59.35), Hong Kong Olympic silver medalist <strong>Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> (1:59.70), U.S. Olympian <strong>Bella Sims<\/strong> (1:59.95) and fellow Sandpipers star <strong>Claire Weinstein<\/strong> (1:59.96).<\/p>\n<p>The event was so stacked that<strong> Katie Grimes<\/strong> (2:00.44) will be in the B final with <strong>Katerine Savard<\/strong> (2:00.53), <strong>Medi Harris<\/strong> (2:00.63) and <strong>Isabel Ivey<\/strong> (2:00.99).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Luiz Altamir<\/strong> was the lone swimmer to break 1:48 in the prelims of the 200 free, going a 1:47.65.<\/p>\n<p>Ohio State&#8217;s <strong>Ruslan Gaziev<\/strong> took the second seed, followed by Olympian <strong>Kieran Smith<\/strong> (1:48.38).<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the top eight were Wales&#8217; <strong>Matthew Richards<\/strong> (1:48.57),<strong> Jorge Iga<\/strong> (1:49.03), Mission Viejo&#8217;s <strong>Trenton Julian<\/strong> (1:49.03),<strong> Shaine Casas<\/strong> (1:49.08) and Olympian <strong>Drew Kibler<\/strong> (1:49.23).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 50 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Imogen Clark<\/strong> took the top seed in the 50 breaststroke, touching the wall in 30.47. She was a full half second faster than second-place <strong>Lilly King<\/strong> (39.97), who took the second spot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachel Bernhardt<\/strong> took the third seed (31.09), followed by Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Kara Hanlon<\/strong> (31.36), <strong>Tara Vovk<\/strong> (31.69), <strong>Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> (31.67), <strong>Macarena Aileen Ceballos<\/strong> (31.86) and <strong>Annie Lazor<\/strong> (31.90).<\/p>\n<p>Haughey made the final in the 200 free as well, doing an interesting double.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 50 Breast<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> broke the TYR Pro Swim Series record in the 50 breaststroke to earn the top seed for finals. Andrew got to the wall in 26.85.<\/p>\n<p>The previous series records was Brazil&#8217;s <strong>Felipe Lima<\/strong> going 26.97 in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Club Wolverine&#8217;s<strong> Tommy Cope<\/strong> was second in 27.72, one hundredth of a second ahead of Olympian<strong> Nic Fink<\/strong> (27.73), followed by Olympian <strong>Cody Miller<\/strong> (27.85), <strong>Julio Horrego<\/strong> (28.10) and NOVA&#8217;s <strong>Charlie Swanson<\/strong> (28.17).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 50 Butterfly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Continuing<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/abbey-weitzeil-continues-second-wave-of-speed-with-stunning-100-free-in-fort-lauderdale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> her strong meet<\/a>, <strong>Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong> put together a strong 50 butterfly to take the top seed in 26.37. Weitzeil won the 100 free on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Denmark&#8217;s <strong>Emilie Beckmann<\/strong> took the second seed in 26.58, followed by Canada&#8217;s <strong>Katerine<\/strong> <strong>Savard<\/strong> (26.71), U.S. Olympian <strong>Natalie Hinds<\/strong> (27.04), Denmark&#8217;s<strong> Amalie Mikkelsen<\/strong> (27.23) and U.S. Olympian <strong>Erika Brown<\/strong> (27.31).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 50 Butterfly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dylan Carter<\/strong> and <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> were in back-to-back heats, both in Lane 9 on the outside. Both put together stellar swims and tied for the top seed with 23.25 swims.<\/p>\n<p>Pretty quick for the prelims and the outside lane.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shaine Casas<\/strong> took the third seed in 23.61, followed by Portugal&#8217;s <strong>Diogo Matos Ribeiro<\/strong> (23.80), Sandpipers&#8217;s <strong>Ilya Kharun<\/strong> (23.96) and<strong> Zach Harting<\/strong> (23.98).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 200 Backstroke<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sun Devil Aquatics&#8217; <strong>Regan Smith<\/strong> breezed into the top seed in the 200 backstroke. She got to the wall in 2:10.79, ahead of the field by nearly three seconds.<\/p>\n<p>Sandpiper&#8217;s <strong>Katie Grimes<\/strong> took the second seed in 2:13.47, also a sizeable amount faster than everyone else.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Athena Kovacs<\/strong> took the third seed in 2:15.17, followed by <strong>Erika Palaez<\/strong> (2:15.29) and <strong>Olivia<\/strong> <strong>Smoliga<\/strong> (2:15.69).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kayman Neal<\/strong> (2:15.82), <strong>Bella Sims<\/strong> (2:15.85) and <strong>Audrey Derivaux<\/strong> (2:16.33) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 200 Backstroke<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Olympian Ryan Murphy wasn&#8217;t near his fastest, but put enough distance between himself and the rest of the field to take the top seed in the 200 backstroke at the TYR Pro Swim Series.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy was the only swimmer under 2:02 and finished in 2:01.54.<\/p>\n<p>Olympian <strong>Jay Litherland<\/strong> was the closest competitor, getting to the wall in 2:02.05.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yeziel Morales<\/strong> took the third seed (2:02.26), ahead of Portugal&#8217;s <strong>Joao Nogueira Costa<\/strong> (2:02.53), <strong>Aidan Norman<\/strong> (2:03.01) and <strong>Chase Kalisz<\/strong> (2:03.27).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong> pulled away from the field in the 400 IM to claim the top seed in 4:39.97.<\/p>\n<p>Canada&#8217;s<strong> Bailey Andison<\/strong> (2:45.52),<strong> Tess Cieplucha<\/strong> (4:45.80) and <strong>Ella Jansen<\/strong> (4:49.21) were the next three closest competitors in the field.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kim Emely Herkle<\/strong> took the fifth seed (4:51.21), followed by <strong>Michaela Mattes<\/strong> (4:52.14), <strong>Sofia<\/strong> <strong>Plaza<\/strong> (4:52.42) and <strong>Claire Weinstein<\/strong> (4:53.08).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men&#8217;s 400 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Canadian teenager<strong> Lorne Wigginton<\/strong> claimed the top seed in the 400 IM, getting to the wall in 4:20.68.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bobby Finke<\/strong>, swimming one heat later, was next fastest in the session, touching in 4:21.71 to hold off <strong>Sean Grieshop<\/strong> (4:25.89).<\/p>\n<p>There was more than a two-second dropoff from third to fourth.
