Wattel"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Matt Sates Wins Two In Two On First Day Of Lausanne Swim Cup: Victories For Peaty, Carraro &amp; Wattel<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Matt Sates<\/strong> made it two victories in two races as he won the 400 free and 400IM at the opening day of the<strong> Lausanne Swim Cup<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/live.swimrankings.net\/34754\/\">Link to results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sates went away from <strong>Kregor Zirk<\/strong> after the 250m mark after the pair having traded the lead in the opening five lengths, a 27.95 split guiding him to a 2.04sec advantage at the penultimate turn.<\/p>\n<p>The Estonian reduced the deficit with a 28.62 final 50 but not enough to threaten the South African who stopped the clock at 3:50.45.<\/p>\n<p>Zirk clocked 3:51.80 with<strong> Marc-Antoine Olivier<\/strong> rounding out the podium in 3:52.36.<\/p>\n<p>Sates returned for the timed final of the 400IM, dominating from first to last in 4:18.86.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adam Peaty<\/strong> won the 50 breaststroke in 27.08 &#8211; 0.05 outside his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/commonwealth-games-a-cornered-lion-adam-peaty-roars-back-to-claim-title-in-50-breaststroke\/\">winning time at the Commonwealth Games<\/a> last year &#8211; one of a number of Russian athletes competing &#8211; won the women&#8217;s 400 free, leading throughout to win in 4:11.36 ahead of Britain&#8217;s <strong>Abbie Wood<\/strong> (4:13.71).<\/p>\n<h3>Zirk Turns Silver To Gold;
