The second-quickest heat is not a terrible place from which to swim — indeed, Cal won the national title in this event from the second-to-last heat in 2022 — but not ideal nonetheless. The Texas team of Carson Foster, Caspar Corbeau, Sam Artmann and Danny Krueger combined for a time of 3:04.57, which moves Texas to 13th in the country.

Despite breaststroke standout Corbeau moving to butterfly for the Longhorns’ 200 medley relay, he remained in his signature stroke here while Sam Artmann handled fly, but Thursday night’s results did not produce any status-changing swims for Texas.

The second-quickest time of the night belonged to the Texas B-squad, with Ethan Harder, Will Chan, Cole Crane and Peter Larson finishing in 3:05.49. Chan went 51.44 on breaststroke, just off Corbeau’s top split of 51.37, while Crane (45.89) and Larson (41.89) were just behind the splits from the A-team.

TCU’s team of Edgar Cianci, Jadon Wuilliez, Piotr Sadlowski and Milan Fabien took second in 3:09.67, and third went to West Virginia’s Justin Heimes, Danny Berlitz, David Snider and Conner McBeth (3:11.67).

Event 14 Men 400 Yard Medley Relay
==================================================================================
American:   3:01.51  3/23/2017 California
Murphy, Hoppe, Josa, Jensen
US Open:   2:59.22  3/23/2017 Texas
Shebat, Licon, Schooling, Conger
Big 12: * 2:59.22  3/23/2017 University of Texas
Shebat, Lincon, Schooling, Conger
Meet: # 3:02.11  2/25/2021 University of Texas
Staka, Corbeau, Jiang, Krueger
3:04.96  A NCAA Auto
3:06.84  I 2022 NCAA Invited
3:06.84  B NCAA Bonus
School                           Seed     Finals       Points
==================================================================================
1 Texas                         3:05.89    3:04.57 A       40
1) Carson Foster JR 2) r:+0.18 Caspar Corbeau SR
3) r:+0.31 Sam Artmann SR 4) r:+0.11 Daniel Krueger SR
21.92        45.90 (45.90)
1:09.48 (23.58)     1:37.27 (51.37)
1:58.31 (21.04)     2:22.90 (45.63)
2:42.54 (19.64)     3:04.57 (41.67)
2 TCU                           3:11.27    3:09.67         34
1) Edgar Cicanci FR 2) r:+0.20 Jadon Wuilliez SO
3) r:+0.28 Piotr Sadlowski SR 4) r:+0.29 Milan Fabian SO
22.85        47.89 (47.89)
1:11.91 (24.02)     1:39.64 (51.75)
2:00.77 (21.13)     2:26.43 (46.79)
2:46.82 (20.39)     3:09.67 (43.24)
3 West Virginia                 3:13.60    3:11.67         32
1) Justin Heimes JR 2) r:+0.31 Danny Berlitz SO
3) r:+0.26 David Snider SR 4) r:+0.24 Conner McBeth SO
22.74        47.28 (47.28)
1:12.65 (25.37)     1:41.56 (54.28)
2:03.39 (21.83)     2:28.65 (47.09)
2:48.56 (19.91)     3:11.67 (43.02)

Big 12 Championships, Day 2 Finals: Erica Sullivan, Carson Foster Post Nationally-Ranked Times as Texas Cruises During the first full evening of racing at the Big 12 Championships in Austin,

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[3
65998,60848,72766,95977,96509,52093,62709,58011,101190,59683,458
post-522982","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-featured","tag-big-12-swimming","tag-carson-foster","tag-coby-carrozza","tag-danny-krueger","tag-david-johnston","tag-erica-sullivan","tag-grace-cooper","tag-kelly-pash","tag-luke-hobson","tag-olivia-bray","tag-university-of-texas

Big 12 Championships: Sullivan, C.
