This league only includes five women&#8217;s swim and dive teams (Texas, TCU, West Virginia, Kansas and Iowa State) and three men&#8217;s teams (Texas, TCU and West Virginia), and the national powerhouse Longhorns have long been dominant in conference competition. In fact, the Texas men have won every single Big 12 Championships since the conference&#8217;s inception while the women are undefeated since Texas A&amp;M moved to the SEC in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>The Longhorn women and men each posted solid times in the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay to start the meet, although most of the Longhorns fell a bit short of their season and lifetime-best marks with the NCAA Championships still to come.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Team Scores<\/strong><\/h3>\n<pre>Women - Team Rankings - Through Event 5                      \r\n \r\n  1. The team of\u00a0<strong>Olivia Bray<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Anna Elendt<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Emma Sticklen<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Grace Cooper<\/strong> swam a time of 1:34.21, short of the Longhorns&#8217; season-best time of 1:33.70 from a tight contest with NC State last month. Bray led off in 23.85 while Cooper rocketed to a 21.31 split coming home. The team ranks third in the country this season and will likely enter the NCAA Championships seeded third or fourth in the event.<\/p>\n<p>The second-best time of the day was the 1:36.91 posted by the Texas&#8217; B-squad of <strong>Meghan DiMartile<\/strong>, <strong>Lydia Jacoby<\/strong>, <strong>Dakota Luther <\/strong>and <strong>Bridget Semenuk<\/strong>. The splits were solid, but the Longhorns&#8217; deficiencies in this event were made clear right away. The time ranks Texas 11th in the country, so the Longhorns will definitely not swim in the fastest heat of this event at the NCAA Championships. That was the third-fastest time in the country, behind marks posted by Virginia and Stanford. The team was almost identical to the group that placed fourth at last year&#8217;s NCAA Championships with only Sullivan stepping in for the graduated\u00a0<strong>Evie Pfeifer<\/strong>. Pash led off in 1:43.38, six tenths off her season-best 200 free time of 1:42.73 that ranks fourth in the country, while Bray&#8217;s split of 1:42.91 was the quickest of the race.<\/p>\n<p>An exciting race for second saw the remaining four teams in the race all finish within 1.2 seconds of each other. Texas has an elite squad including U.S. World Championship team members\u00a0<strong>Carson Foster\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Coby Carrozza<\/strong> plus 200-meter free U.S. Nationals winner\u00a0<strong>Luke Hobson<\/strong>. In this race, Carson&#8217;s older brother\u00a0<strong>Jake Foster<\/strong> handled the third leg, and Texas recorded a time of 6:10.64, about two seconds off the Longhorns&#8217; season best and seven seconds off their national record. Texas currently owns the second-best time in the country, just behind Florida&#8217;s mark from last week&#8217;s SEC Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Carson Foster had the fastest split of the race at 1:31.76, with Hobson posting the next-best mark at 1:32.29.
