A sophomore at Keller High School swam a time of 1:42.17 Saturday at the Texas 6A state meet, which came in less than a second off\u00a0<strong>David Nolan&#8217;s<\/strong> legendary national record of 1:41.39 established in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Williamson was just off <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/maximus-williamson-beats-andrews-former-nag-record-in-200-im-at-juniors-west-rex-maurer-shines-in-500-free\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his lifetime best of 1:42.07 set at Junior Nationals West in December<\/a>, a time which beat what had been the 15-16 National Age Group record entering the day, but he won the race by almost three seconds. Later on, Williamson won convincingly in the 100 backstroke with a time of 47.24, a bit off <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/down-goes-a-michael-phelps-nag-record-as-maximus-williamson-shines-in-400-im\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the 46.90 he swam in the event at Junior Nationals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He was also a part of two impressive relay efforts for Keller. In the 200 medley relay, Williamson led off in 22.46, and he joined with <strong>Branden Beladi<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Riccardo Osio<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>River Paulk<\/strong> to finish second overall, just behind the 1:29.81 that Conroe The Woodlands swam for the win.
