NC State supplied the second and fourth seeds in finals, <strong>Abby Arens<\/strong> and <strong>Grace Sheble,<\/strong> respectively. But the meet record that she set last year at 49.41 is certainly in play, after she went 50.53 in the morning session. She\u2019s nearly a second ahead of teammate <strong>Kennedy Noble,<\/strong> the second seed in 51.46. The Wolfpack jammed four swimmers into the top six, with <strong>Kylee Alons<\/strong> and <strong>Emma Muzzy<\/strong> following. The eight finalists were separated by seventh tenths, with <strong>Hunter Tapp<\/strong> missing out on the A final. NC State had to settle for the top two spots in the final, Izzo followed .17 seconds later by <strong>Kacper Stokowski<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Notre Dame freshman <strong>Tommy Janton<\/strong> is the third seed, followed by Georgia Tech\u2019s <strong>Berke Saka. She was the top seed in 58.79 in the morning, and while she\u2019s the only swimmer in the field with a sub-50 time, she had a crowd close behind her. Leading it the NC State duo of <strong>Andrea Podmanikova<\/strong> in 58.95 and <strong>Heather McCausland<\/strong> in 59.04. (The latter has a 58.16 this season). It ties the conference mark set in 2021. Nichols had been 51.44 this season and entered as the top seed, so it shouldn\u2019t come as a surprise.<\/p>\n<p>Second was NC State\u2019s <strong>Mason Hunter<\/strong> in 51.76. The other owner of a time in the 51s this season entering the meet, Virginia Tech\u2019s <strong>Carles Coll Marti,<\/strong> went 51.84 for the third seed.
