That downs a pool record set by <strong>Ryan Hoffer<\/strong> in 2021 (44.24). It also improves the NCAA A cut he held. It meant a rarity of rarities \u2013 <strong>Kate Douglass<\/strong> being behind another human being in a swimming pool. The UVA star is the second seed in finals after a 50.96 in the morning. The final could be a clash of styles: Notre Dame sprinter <strong>Chris Guiliano<\/strong> is lurking in sixth, while Georgia Tech distance star <strong>Batur Unlu<\/strong> is third.
