University of Iowa                 62<\/pre>\n<p>Here is a look a the relays on the first day:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/college\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Complete College Coverage<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sidearmstats.com\/umichigan\/swim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Results<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Big Ten Women&#8217;s 200 Medley Relay<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Buckeyes made a statement splash in the first event of the Big Ten Championships, breaking the Michigan pool record in the event to take the win, and the early lead in the meet. Ohio State won the event in 1:33.95, besting the previous pool record set by Indiana in 2016 (1:35.73).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nyah Funderburke<\/strong> started with a 23.58 split to lead things off for the Buckeyes. <strong>Hannah Bach<\/strong> was the breaststroke split in 26.22, followed by butterflyer <strong>Katherine Zenick<\/strong> (22.60) and <strong>Teresa<\/strong> <strong>Ivan<\/strong> was the freestyle anchor in 21.55.<\/p>\n<p>Host Michigan took second with a strong race, finishing in 1:35.96. <strong>Casey Chung<\/strong> (24.78), <strong>Letitia<\/strong> <strong>Sim<\/strong> (26.96), <strong>Natalie Kan<\/strong> (22.97) and <strong>Lindsay Flynn<\/strong> (21.25) comprised the Wolverines relay.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana was the third Big Ten team to earn an NCAA &#8220;A&#8221; cut in the event, finishing in 1:35.98 behind<strong> Kacey McKenna<\/strong> (24.56), <strong>Noelle Peplowski<\/strong> (26.64), <strong>Elizabeth Broshears<\/strong> (23.45) and <strong>Ashley broke the pool record to win the 800 free relay. The Hoosiers finished in 6:58.44, besting the 2016 Michigan team by a tenth of a second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anna Peplowski<\/strong> led off in a 1:43.50, followed by <strong>Ching Gan<\/strong> (1:45.08), <strong>Mackenzie Looz<\/strong>e (1:45.34) and <strong>Kristin Paegle<\/strong> (1:44.52).<\/p>\n<p>Michigan finished second in both relays on Wednesday.
