After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/texas-men-take-lead-on-nc-state-thanks-to-foster-brothers-hobson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a 98-88 win Friday nigh<\/a>t, Texas took an 80-68 victory Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Johnston recorded a mark of 8:41.62 in his 1000 win, just missing the top time in the country of 8:41.61 that he established last month. Gallant ended up coming in at 8:44.48, good for No. 2 in the national rankings. A few races later,\u00a0Texas fifth-year swimmer\u00a0<strong>Danny Krueger<\/strong> won the 100 free in 42.67, beating NC State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nyls Korstanje<\/strong> by just one hundredth.<\/p>\n<p>The elder Foster brother, Jake, won the 200 breaststroke as he sprinted home in 29.59 to get ahead of Texas teammate\u00a0<strong>Caspar Corbeau<\/strong>. Foster won in 1:53.62, with Corbeau coming in at 1:53.71 and <strong>Braden Vines<\/strong> finishing third (1:56.48) for a Texas sweep. Up next, Carson dominated the 200 butterfly in 1:40.83, moving him to No. 3 nationally behind the Arizona State duo of\u00a0<strong>Leon Marchand<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Alex Colson<\/strong>. The younger Foster sibling will likely choose to swim either the 200 fly or 200 back on the final day of the NCAA Championships.<\/p>\n<p>In one-meter diving, Texas&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Nick Harris<\/strong> picked up the win in 412.05.<\/p>\n<p>NC State, meanwhile, picked up only one individual win but scored two relay first-place finishes to stay in contention.\u00a0<strong>David Curtiss<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Noah Henderson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Luke Miller<\/strong> and Korstanje opened the meet with a 1:16.30 win in the 200 free relay.
