{"id":521476,"date":"2023-01-21T12:00:06","date_gmt":"2023-01-21T19:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=521476"},"modified":"2023-01-21T12:42:40","modified_gmt":"2023-01-21T19:42:40","slug":"roman-mityukov-continues-winning-form-at-geneva-international","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/roman-mityukov-continues-winning-form-at-geneva-international\/","title":{"rendered":"Roman Mityukov Continues Winning Form At Geneva International"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Roman Mityukov <\/strong>twice topped the podium on day two of the <strong>Geneva International<\/strong> to continue his winning form.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/live.swimrankings.net\/35033\/index_us.html#\">Link to results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Swiss swimmer &#8211; who won bronze at the <strong>European Championships<\/strong> in Budapest in 2021 &#8211; appeared first in the 200 back and led by 0.22 from <strong>Michele Lamberti<\/strong> after the first 50, a lead he extended throughout to win in 1:58.28.<\/p>\n<p>Mityukov was the only man inside 2mins with Lamberti second, more than 5secs adrift in 2:03.39.<\/p>\n<p>He returned to win the 50 free in the final event of the day in 23.14.<\/p>\n<p>It was a third victory of the meet so far for Mityukov who won the 100 free double on Friday in 22.84 and 49.34 respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gabriele Detti<\/strong> set a championship record of 3:51.46 in the men&#8217;s 400 free, slicing 1.69secs from the previous mark of 3:53.15 held by Britain&#8217;s <strong>David Davies<\/strong> since January 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian was also second in the 1500 free, clocking 15:25.99 behind<strong> Damien Joly<\/strong> who won in 15:19.30.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Evelyn Davis<\/strong> won the 50\/100 free double with victories in 25.75 and 56.04 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Roman Mityukov twice topped the podium on day two of the Geneva International to continue his winning form.
