However, Smith returned to the deck to get in the 100 freestyle on Saturday morning. In the prelims of the event, she posted the 13th-fastest time of the session, going 55.88.<\/p>\n<p>Smith revealed her illness through her Instagram account. She said she, \u201ccame down with a stomach bug\/food poisoning after prelims yesterday (Thursday).\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swmeets.com\/Realtime\/Pro%20Series\/2023\/Knoxville\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2022-tyr-pro-swim-series-knoxville\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TYR Pro Swim Series Meet Page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Smith was the third seed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/tyr-pro-swim-series-knoxville-day-2-womens-prelims-katie-ledecky-cruises-to-top-seed-in-200-free\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">out of prelims Thursday morning<\/a> in the women\u2019s 200 freestyle before scratching out of the evening finals Thursday. The Olympian representing Sun Devil Swimming had also finished second in prelims of the 50 backstroke on Thursday morning before likewise bowing out of that final. She opted to bypass the entire Friday schedule while recovering.<\/p>\n<p>While Smith took on the 100 freestyle on Saturday, she was measured in her approach to the meet.
