Katarzyna (Kasia) Wasick<\/strong> made her resurgence into the world\u2019s elite swimmers at the Tokyo Olympics – her fourth.<\/p>\n

But she hasn\u2019t shown any signs of slowing down. In fact, she is getting even faster and is finally starting to get recognized as one of the top sprinters in the world<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This week, Wasick was honored at the Best Polish Athlete of the Year ceremony as one of the top 10 athletes in Poland for 2022. Twenty-six athletes were nominated and the top 10 were honored at the award gala.<\/p>\n

Wasick said the best part of the honor was it was selected by the fans. She finished eighth in the nation’s voting.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though swimming is not promoted much in Poland, fans recognized my achievements,\u201d Kasia Wasick told Swimming World<\/em>. \u201cIt means the world to me knowing that I got that award because of what I did in the pool this year and it was appreciated by the fans. It gives me a big kick for this upcoming season to make my country proud.\u201d<\/p>\n
