Virginia Tech&#8217;s men came out on top by a margin of 146-to-108 while the women earned a 151-103 victory.<\/p>\n<p>A huge performance by\u00a0<strong>Carles Coll Marti\u00a0<\/strong>saw the junior from Spain earn wins in the 200 freestyle (1:38.16), 200 breaststroke (1:57.06) and 200 IM (1:48.86). Coll Marti then swam the second leg on VT&#8217;s winning 200 free relay, joining with\u00a0<strong>Youssef Ramadan<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Will Koeppen<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Luis Dominguez<\/strong> to swim a time of 1:19.83. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Forest Webb<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Cobi Lopez Miro<\/b>, Ramadan and\u00a0Dominguez won the 200 medley relay in 1:27.96, while Ramadan clocked 43.71 for a win in the 100 free.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Virginia Tech&#8217;s women, meanwhile, were led by <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Chase Travis<\/b>, who won the 1000 free (10:07.14) and 500 free (4:59.03), while <strong>Emma Atkinson<\/strong>, sixth in the 200 backstroke at last year&#8217;s NCAA Championships, won that event in 1:57.23.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com\/sidearm.nextgen.sites\/queensathletics.com\/documents\/2023\/1\/7\/qu_tn_va_tech_results.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Full results are available here<\/a>, and read the full press release from Virginia Tech below:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Virginia Tech racked up many first-place wins during their meet against Queens and Tennessee. The Tech men beat Queens 146-108, and the women won 151-103. Tennessee counted as an exhibition, so they do not have a final score. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>HIGHLIGHTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Men<\/u><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Hokie relays didn&#8217;t disappoint. To begin the meet, <b>Forest Webb<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Cobi Lopez Miro<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Youssef Ramadan<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Luis Dominguez<\/b>\u00a0placed first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:27.96. Finishing off the day, Ramadan,\u00a0<b>Carles Coll Marti<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Will Koeppen<\/b> and Dominguez placed first in the 200 free relay with a final time of 1:19.83.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Showing his endurance, Dominguez placed first in the men&#8217;s 1000 free with a time of 9:22.44. Following right behind him,\u00a0<b>Nico Garcia Saiz<\/b>\u00a0placed second with a time of 9:24.44 and\u00a0<b>Nikolas Lee-Bishop<\/b>\u00a0placed third with a time of 9:34.35. Continuing the top distance swims, Dominguez also placed first in the 500 free with a time of 4:33.70.\u00a0<b>Keith Myburgh<\/b> followed right behind, placing second with a time of 4:35.50 and Lee-Bishop placing third with a time of 4:37.51.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coll Marti showed speed and diversity in the pool. He placed first in the 200 free with a time of 1:38.16 and first in the 200 breast with a time of 1:57.06. Coll Marti also placed first in the men&#8217;s 200 IM with a time of 1:48.86.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ramadan always proves his speed during freestyle events. Placing first, Ramadan finished the 100 free with a time of 43.71. He finished the 50 free with a time of 19.52, placing second.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><u style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Women<\/u><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like the men, the women&#8217;s relays placed high. Starting the day off strong,\u00a0<b>Carmen Weiler Sastre<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Fanni Gyurinovics<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Karisa Franz<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Madelyn Moore<\/b>\u00a0placed first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:41.19. Gyurinovics, Franz,\u00a0<b>Emily Claesson<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Anna Summers<\/b> finished out the meet with a first place win in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:33.86.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Chase Travis<\/b> dominated distance events. Placing first in the women&#8217;s 1000 free, Travis finished with a time of 10:07.14. She went on to win the women&#8217;s 500 free with a time of 4:59.03.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Sarah Shackelford<\/b>,\u00a0<b>Emma Atkinson<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Madelyn Moore<\/b> placed high in freestyle. Shackelford finished first in the 50 free with a time of 23.43 and Moore followed right behind in second place with a time of 23.43. Shackelford also won the 100 free, finishing at 50.70 with Moore in second place at 50.85. Atkinson won the 200 free event with a time of 1:49.10.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Weiler Sastre, <b>Emma Atkinson<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>Caroline Bentz<\/b> continue to have strong performances in backstroke. Placing first, Weiler Sastre finished the 100 back with a time of 54.69. Right behind her in second place, Bentz finished with a time of 55.08. Atkinson placed first in the 200 back with a final time of 1:57.23. Weiler Sastre fell right behind her in second place with a time of 1:58.82 and Bentz in third at 2:00.07.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Placing first in butterfly, <b>Morgan Miller<\/b>\u00a0finished the 200 fly event with a time of 2:02.65.\u00a0<b>Karisa Franz<\/b>\u00a0finished first in the women&#8217;s 100 fly with a time of
