STANFORD just can&#8217;t lose when it comes to relays as the Cardinal are now three-for-three following the 200-yard medley relay at the NCAA Division I Women&#8217;s Championships.<\/p>\n<p>After a relay sweep last night that included wins in the 200 free relay and 400 medley relay, the Cardinal swept the medley relays tonight as Felicia Lee (23.56), Sarah Haase (26.77), Nicole Stafford (23.32) and Maddy Schaefer (21.30) raced their way to a 1:34.95 for the win.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s Stanford&#8217;s record 12th win in the event, but first since 2002. The Cardinal previously won the event in 1983, 1984, 1986, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2002, but ended more than a decade drought tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Defending champion Tennessee&#8217;s Lauren Solernou (24.11), Molly Hannis (26.40), Harper Bruens (23.34) and Faith Johnson (21.47) powered their way to second-place honors, while Florida&#8217;s Sinead Russell (24.38), Hilda Luthersdottir (27.04), Ellese Zalewski (22.71) and Natalie Hinds (21.29) claimed third in 1:35.42.<\/p>\n<p>Texas A&amp;M (1:35.59), Georgia (1:35.98), Texas (1:36.69), Virginia (1:37.21) and NC State (1:37.73) also vied for the championship title this evening.<\/p>\n<p>USC powered their way to victory in the consolation heat as Henriette Stenkvist (25.07), Kasey Carlson (25.78), Kendyl Stewart (23.20) and Eva Swenson (22.15) topped the B final in a swift 1:36.20. Indiana (1:37.30) and Arizona (1:37.39) finished second and third in the consolation finale.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan (1:37.49), Wisconsin (1:37.53), Missouri (1:37.84), North Carolina (1:38.06) and Penn State (1:38.17) also competed in the B final.<\/p>\n<p>This morning, California drew a disqualification for a -.05 relay takeover from their breat to fly leg, costing the Golden Bears some huge team points in the event.<\/p>\n<p><b>Team Standings<\/b><br \/>\n1.
