Jordan Rzepka, Sarah Bacon Win Titles at USA Diving Winter Nationals<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jordan Rzepka<\/strong> and Sarah Bacon<\/strong> added titles on the fourth night of the 2022 USA Diving Winter National championships. The competition in Morgantown, West Virginia, wraps up Sunday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rzepka, representing Purdue Diving, scored 853.50 points to top the field in the men\u2019s platform event. He was one of three divers to top 800 points, and he scored 100.70 points on his final dive, a front 2.5 with three twists, to hold off the charge by Joshua Hedberg<\/strong> and Zachary Cooper.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hedberg, of the Indiana International School of Diving, scored 816.95. It\u2019s his second medal of the week, having won gold in the platform synchro event<\/a>. (His partner, Tyler Wills,<\/strong> finished seventh Saturday.) Cooper, who made a charge late in finals, grabbed bronze in 804.45.<\/p>\n

“I had one goal in mind tonight, and that was to take it one dive at a time,\u201d Rzepka said. \u201cI usually get a little overwhelmed and think about dives I\u2019m not doing at that moment. I feel like I did a good job with that tonight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bacon added to her 3-meter synchro crown<\/a> with gold in the individual event. She tallied 579.60 points for her fifth career national title and first individual 3-meter gold.<\/p>\n
