Men&#8217;s Events: Italy&#8217;s Thomas Ceccon Snatches Second Gold Of The Meet With Skillful Win In The 100IM<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Thomas Ceccon<\/strong> has grabbed gold medal number two, in a thrilling 100m individual medley final &#8211; striking his second gold of the meet &#8211; after helping the Italians to gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay<\/p>\n<p>After leading through the butterfly and backstroke legs, it was American <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> who touched first at the end of the breaststroke, but it was Ceccon, with all his skills, who pounced on Andrew with a powerful turn, surging to the finish to win gold in 50.97 with Canadian pair <strong>Javier Acevedo<\/strong> (51.05) and <strong>Finlay Knox<\/strong> (51.10) taking silver and bronze.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2022-world-short-course-championships-day-4-day-4\/international-elite\/2022\/December\/16?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day 4 Results<\/a><\/p>\n<p>U.S. pair <strong>Shaine Casas<\/strong> (51.31) and Andrew (51.47) were fourth and fifth respectively, at the World Championships.<\/p>\n<p>What a year it&#8217;s been for Ceccon and what a way to celebrate a 2022 he&#8217;ll never forget &#8211; winning the 100m backstroke long course world championship min Budapest, setting a new world record &#8211; after last year taking bronze in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n<p>Ceccon started the week in Melbourne as part of the gold medal winning 4x100m freestyle relay team and he backed up again tonight to swim the second leg of the bronze medal winning team in the 4x200m freestyle relay &#8211; the Italians coming from behind to touch out Korea in a frantic
