USA Swimming has updated its roster for the 2022 World Short Course Championships.<\/p>\n

Backstroker Rhyan White<\/strong> was not able to make the trip to Melbourne because of an illness, according to USA Swimming.<\/p>\n

White was slated to swim the three backstroke events. Current members of the roster will take over those three U.S. backstroke spots with Erika Brown<\/strong> (50 BK), Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> (100 BK) and Claire Curzan<\/strong> (200 BK)\u00a0 added to each of those events.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, USA Swimming also named team captains for the meet: Nic Fink<\/strong> and Ryan Murphy<\/strong> are men\u2019s team captains; Natalie Hinds<\/strong> and Leah Smith<\/strong> are women\u2019s team captains.<\/p>\n

The roster<\/a> features 16 Olympians , including Ryan Murphy<\/strong> (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida\/California Aquatics), Torri Huske<\/strong> (Arlington, Virginia\/Stanford University), Andrew (Encinitas, California\/MA Swim Academy) , Hali Flickinger<\/strong><\/a> (York, Pennsylvania\/Sun Devil Swimming), Nic Fink<\/strong> (Morristown, New Jersey\/Metro Atlantic Aquatic Club) and Kate Douglass<\/strong> and Smith, among others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Multiple reigning short course world champions will be representing the U.S. again, including Fink, White and Casas (McAllen, Texas\/Longhorn Aquatics). Last year\u2019s U.S. roster led the medal table with nine gold, nine silver and 12 bronze for 30 total medals.<\/p>\n
