ORLANDO, Florida, March 20. SINCE the stroke 50s are typically not swum at championship-level age group meets, it was a treat to see the NCSA Junior National talent take on the 50 breaststroke on the third night of the meet.<\/p>\n
Girls 50 Breaststroke:<\/p>\n
100 breaststroke winner Samantha Senczyszyn was excited to swim the 50 breaststroke, and she didn\u2019t disappoint with her A final win. She sprinted to the finish with a 28.08, ahead of Olivia Anderson\u2019s 28.19 second-place finish. New Trier\u2019s Ingrid Wall came in third with a 28.50. New 13-14 100 breaststroke NAG holder Alexis Wenger took off several tenths from her morning swim to place fourth with a 28.54. B final winner Shea Hoyt would have finished fifth after posting a fast 28.66 the heat prior.<\/p>\n
Boys 50 Breaststroke:<\/p>\n
Top seed Michael Andrew, fresh out of the 200 freestyle final where he set a new 13-14 NAG, dropped to third in the 50 breaststroke final. Since there are no NAGs for 13 and older swimmers, Andrew was only going for the win in the event. However, the win went to Connor Hoppe of Clovis Swim Club with a 24.57, who swam over half a second faster than the 25.19 he posted this morning. Second went to Carsten Vissering with a 24.76, who won the 100 breaststroke on the second night of the meet. Andrew settled for third with a 24.96, two one hundredths slower than his morning swim.<\/p>\n
