Ledecky, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/katie-ledecky-romps-to-victory-in-800-freestyle-at-u-s-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">after winning the 800 free on Wednesday<\/a>, took the top seed comfortably in 4:02.51.<\/p>\n<p>McIntosh, Canada\u2019s teen sensation finished with the second seed in 4:06.68. Both swimmers could have plenty left in the tank for an exciting final.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michaela Mattes<\/strong> took the third seed (4:12.49), followed by<strong> Erin Gemmell<\/strong> (4:12.57) and <strong>Emma Weyant<\/strong> (4:13.59).<\/p>\n<p><strong>US Open Men\u2019s 400 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brazil\u2019<strong>s Guilherme Costa<\/strong> swam to the top spot in the men\u2019s 400 freestyle, touching the wall in 3:52.13.<\/p>\n<p>NC State\u2019s <strong>Ross Dant<\/strong> took the second spot in 3:52.56, followed by Brazil\u2019s<strong> Stephen Steverink<\/strong> (3:52.78) and U.S. national teamers <strong>Zane Grothe<\/strong> (3:53.97) and <strong>Jake Mitchell<\/strong> (3:54.30).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women\u2019s 200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sun Devil Aquatics\u2019 <strong>Regan Smith<\/strong> swam to the top seeding the women 200 IM, finishing in 2:11.66 to barely hold off fellow national teamer <strong>Leah Hayes<\/strong> (2:11.91), setting up what appears to be a fast and closely contested final.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Camille Spink<\/strong> took the third seed in 2:13.96, followed by Zoe Dixon (2:16.59) of Florida,<strong> Miranda Tucker<\/strong> (2:17.00) and Gemmell, swimming back-to-back events (2:17.03).<\/p>\n<p><strong>US Open Men\u2019s 200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Texas A&amp;M\u2019s <strong>Baylor Nelson<\/strong>, fresh off a strong performance in the annual Art Adamson Invitational, surged to the top seed in the 200 IM. He finished 2:00.38.<\/p>\n<p>Two swimmers were right on his heels as<strong> Daniel Diehl<\/strong> finished in 2:00.50 and Olympic gold medalist <strong>Chase Kalisz<\/strong> was third in 2:00.68.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Women\u2019s 50 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Louisville\u2019s <strong>Gabi Albiero<\/strong>, fresh off her strong performance in the Fina World Cup stop in Indianapolis, took the top seed in the 50 free, touching the wall in 25.26.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kaitlyn Johnson<\/strong> took the second seed in 25.44, followed by <strong>Camille Spink<\/strong>, in her second event of the day (25.45),<strong> Lily King<\/strong> (25.50) and <strong>Beata Nelson<\/strong> (25.64).<\/p>\n<p><strong>US Open Men\u2019s 50 Free<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NC State\u2019<strong>s David Curtiss<\/strong> closed out the prelims session with a fast 50 free, touched the wall in 22.07 to take the top seed heading into finals.<\/p>\n<p>Brazil\u2019s<strong> Victor Alcara<\/strong> was right behind at 22.10, followed by Florida\u2019s <strong>Losh Liendo<\/strong> (22.23) and <strong>Ali Khalafalla<\/strong> (22.34).<strong> Justin Ress<\/strong> made the finals in seventh (22.48).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omegatiming.com\/2022\/toyota-u-s-open-live-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Results<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 2022 US Open continued on Thursday with the first full day of competition from Greensboro, North Carolina.
