He\u2019s currently the head coach of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/john-hulvey-returning-to-his-roots-in-gainesville-with-gator-swim-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gator Swim Club in Gainesville<\/a>. Hulvey is Gainesville born and bred, having attended Gainesville High School before his career as a Gator.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;John has tremendous experience throughout many different levels of swimming,&#8221; Florida coach <strong>Anthony Nesty<\/strong> said <a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/news\/2022\/11\/28\/mens-swimming-diving-florida-adds-john-hulvey-to-coaching-staff.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a university statement<\/a>. &#8220;Paired with his local ties and dedication to the University of Florida, we&#8217;re excited for the impact he will have this season.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Before joining GSC, Hulvey coached for 11 years in Jacksonville, most recently as the head coach of Loggerhead Aquatics. He became a swimming and water polo coach at Coral Gables High School in Miami after graduating college. From there, he served as the head coach of Spartan Aquatic Club, a volunteer assistant at the University of North Florida and the head coach\/owner of Storm Swim Club. He\u2019s served on several Florida Zone Team staffs, worked with the Florida LSC and been a part of Florida All-Stars coaching staffs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m excited to be a part of the Florida staff and to help the Gators excel into the 2023 championships!&#8221;, Hulvey said.<\/p>\n<p>Hulvey will help fill the void left last month when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/steve-jungbluth-out-as-university-of-florida-associate-head-coach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the program quietly parted ways with assistant coach<\/a> <strong>Steve Jungbluth.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Florida Adds Alum John Hulvey to Coaching Staff The University of Florida announced on Monday the addition of John Hulvey as a volunteer assistant coach.
