44-year-old repeats the role he undertook at the Tokyo Olympics with seven-time Paralympic wheelchair tennis champion <strong>Esther Vergeer<\/strong> also returning as Chef de breaststroke<\/a> with <strong>Sharon van Rouwendaal<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympics-ana-marcela-cunha-claims-gold-in-10k-2016-champion-van-rouwendaal-earns-silver\/\"> second in the 10k<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ranomi Kromowidjojo<\/strong> and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/femke-heemskerk-ends-career-at-isl-final-federica-pellegrini-pays-tribute\/\"> <strong>Femke Heemskerk<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0&#8211; who won six Olympic medals between them &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/three-time-olympic-champion-ranomi-kromowidjojo-calls-time-on-her-career\/\">have subsequently retired<\/a> with <strong>Marrit Steenbergen<\/strong> now commanding the spotlight <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/european-championships-marrit-steenbergen-continues-dutch-freestyle-strength-with-200-free-win\/\">with four golds among seven medals<\/a> at the European Championships in Rome in August.<\/p>\n<p>Van den Hoogenband told teamnl.org:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span>\u201cIt is wonderful to be able to undertake this role in Paris as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI see it mainly as a rewarding task towards the athletes, about whom it is all about. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;Together with colleagues from NOC*NSF, I want to create the best possible conditions for them to make Paris 2024 a career highlight.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Andre Cats<\/strong> spent five-and-a-half years as technical director\u00a0of the <strong>Dutch Swimming Federation<\/strong> (KNZB) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/andre-cats-makes-switch-from-technical-director-role-at-knzb-to-the-nocnsf\/\">before being appointed director of elite sport at the NOC*NSF<\/a>\u00a0(the \u2018Nederlands Olympisch Comit\u00e9*Nederlandse Sport Federatie\u2019) in January 2022.<\/p>\n<p>He said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span>\u201cWe are pleased that Pieter and Esther are also chef de mission of TeamNL in Paris.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cBoth have a great track record at the highest level.\u00a0<\/span><span>At previous Games they have shown that they can transfer that knowledge and experience to the TeamNL team of today.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;We look forward to continuing our collaboration and are confidently working towards Paris
