ORLANDO, Florida, March 19. THE breaststroke events were particularly intriguing on the first night of finals at the 2014 NCSA Junior National Championships. Carsten Vissering won the boy\u2019s 100 breaststroke, taking down Andrew Seliskar\u2019s NAG in the process. The girls A final came down to the touch and girls B final winner Alexis Wenger claimed her first NAG in the 13-14 age group.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Girls 100 Breaststroke:<\/strong><\/p>\n It was a nail bitingly close race in the girl\u2019s 100 yard breaststroke. Although Aquajets\u2019 Olivia Anderson was the top qualifier from the morning session, she slipped to third after some tough racing from Ozaukee Aquatics Samantha Senczyszyn and Marin Pirates\u2019 Riley Scott. Senczyszyn touched the wall first with a 1:00.81, just three one hundredths faster than Scott (1:00.84). Anderson took third with a 1:01.03, still several tenths faster than her morning swim (1:01.75).<\/p>\n \u00a0Boys 100 Breaststroke:<\/strong><\/p>\n 16 year old Vissering and 14 year old Michael Andrew were both gunning for NAGs in the boy\u2019s 100 yard breaststroke. Fortunately, no toes were stepped on, as the two are in different age groups.<\/p>\n Vissering won the event with a ridiculously fast 52.83, a new 15-16 NAG and the title of being the first swimmer in his age group to break the 53 second mark in the event. The NAG was previously held by Andrew Seliskar at a 53.26, set at last year\u2019s NCSA Junior National Championships. Second place went to Clovis Swim Club\u2019s Connor Hoppe, 18, with a 53.12.
