Virginia&#8217;s men have become a top-10 program with some of the best sprinters in the country, but Texas was strong enough to win 104 to 75 despite swimming exhibition in the final two races of the meet.<\/p>\n<p>Just like in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/carson-foster-caspar-corbeau-lead-texas-to-narrow-win-over-virginia-in-combined-dual-meet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the combined-gender contest between Texas and Virginia Friday night<\/a>, the key performers for\u00a0<strong>Eddie Reese&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>Longhorns were junior\u00a0<strong>Carson Foster\u00a0<\/strong>and senior\u00a0<strong>Caspar Corbeau<\/strong>. Texas won a hard-fought 400 medley relay with Foster (46.27), Corbeau (51.05),\u00a0<strong>Cole Crane\u00a0<\/strong>(46.96) and\u00a0<strong>Danny Krueger\u00a0<\/strong>(41.61) combining for a time of 3:05.89, four tenths quicker than the Virginia quartet of\u00a0<strong>Jack Aikins<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Noah Nichols<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Josh Fong<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Matt King<\/strong> (3:06.33) as King anchored in a blistering 41.41.<\/p>\n<p>Later on, Foster won the 200 backstroke in 1:40.79, the top mark in the country this season and two seconds ahead of Aikins (1:42.90), while Corbeau also swam the nation&#8217;s top time nationally as he defeated Nichols in the 200 breaststroke 1:52.77 to 1:53.74.<\/p>\n<p>Texas&#8217;\u00a0<strong>David Johnston<\/strong> won the 1000 freestyle in 8:46.06, with teammates\u00a0<strong>Alec Enyeart\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Sasha Lyubavski<\/strong> making it a Longhorn sweep, and\u00a0<strong>Jake Foster<\/strong>, older brother of Carson, went 1:44.06 for the win in the 200 IM. Texas later got another 1-2-3 finish in the 200 butterfly with Crane (1:45.76) edging out\u00a0<strong>Coby Carrozza\u00a0<\/strong>(1:45.88) and\u00a0<strong>Luke Hobson<\/strong> (1:45.99).
