Michigan&#8217;s men were led by double winners <strong>Eduardo Moraes<\/strong>, <strong>Wyatt Davis<\/strong> and <strong>Jared Daigle<\/strong>, while freshman\u00a0<strong>Katie Crom\u00a0<\/strong>and senior diver\u00a0<strong>Lucy Hogan<\/strong> came up big for the Michigan women. The meet was Michigan&#8217;s first competition since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/michigan-swimming-honors-ian-miskelley-with-be-better-invite-with-miskelleys-former-teammates-on-all-four-teams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">honoring former teammate\u00a0<strong>Ian Miskelley\u00a0<\/strong>at the &#8220;Be Better&#8221; Invitational two weeks ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Moraes completed the distance sweep for the Wolverines as he took first in the 1000 freestyle (9:17.59) and 500 free (4:28.05), while Davis was a winner in the 100 backstroke (47.35) and 100 butterfly (47.36). Daigle won the 200 free (1:46.78) and 400 IM (3:52.33).\u00a0<strong>Bence Szabados<\/strong> won the 50 free for the Wolverines in 19.64, while <strong>Ansel Froass<\/strong> captured the 200 breast win in 1:59.87 and <strong>Cameron Gammage<\/strong> won 1-meter diving (349.80). Davis,\u00a0<strong>Brendan Fitzpatrick<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Gal Cohen Groumi<\/strong> and Szabados won the 200 medley relay in 1:27.05, and Szabados,\u00a0<strong>Nikola Acin<\/strong>,\u00a0Cohen Groumi and\u00a0<strong>Cam Peel<\/strong> secured the 400 free relay win in 2:55.73.<\/p>\n<p>Winners for the Purdue men included\u00a0<strong>Nick Sherman<\/strong> in the 200 free (1:37.87),\u00a0<strong>Coleman Modglin<\/strong> in the 100 breast (55.09),\u00a0<strong>Skyler Younkin<\/strong> in the 200 fly (1:48.88),\u00a0<strong>Brady Samuels\u00a0<\/strong>in the 100 free (43.27) and\u00a0<strong>Sam Bennett<\/strong> in 3-meter diving (332.80).<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#8217;s side, Crom got her hand on the wall first in the 200 free (1:49.85) and 400 IM (4:22.93), while Hogan put up impressive scores in 3-meter (334.35) and 1-meter (282.30) diving. Eight other Michigan swimmers claimed individual wins:\u00a0<strong>Mariella Venter\u00a0<\/strong>(100 back, 56.51),\u00a0<strong>Devon Kitchel<\/strong> (200 fly, 2:02.13),\u00a0<strong>Brady Kendall<\/strong> (50 free, 23.45),\u00a0<strong>Malia Amuan<\/strong> (100 free, 51.23),\u00a0<strong>Noelle Kaufmann<\/strong> (200 back, 2:02.98),\u00a0<strong>Kathryn Ackerman\u00a0<\/strong>(200 breast, 2:20.19) and <strong>Riley Francis\u00a0<\/strong>(500 free, 4:56.82).<\/p>\n<p>A showdown between two Michigan teams in the 200 medley relay saw the B-squad of Venter, Ackerman<strong>,\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Lindsay Flynn<\/strong> and Kendall beating out the A-team of <strong>Casey Chung<\/strong>, Kitchel,\u00a0<strong>Noelle Kaufmann<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Claire Newman<\/strong> by just one hundredth, 1:42.43 to 1:42.44. But the 400 free relay was no contest as\u00a0<strong>Riley Francis<\/strong>, Flynn,\u00a0<strong>Ella Piersma<\/strong> and <strong>Megan Glass<\/strong> won convincingly in 3:23.03.<\/p>\n<p>EMU&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Savs Mouat<\/strong> finished first in the 1000 free (10:21.04), while Ohio got wins from\u00a0<strong>Ami Hornyak<\/strong> in the 100 breast (1:03.02) and\u00a0<strong>Gabrielle Brust\u00a0<\/strong>in the 100 fly (55.07).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/mgoblue.com\/documents\/2022\/11\/4\/20221104_sd_purdue_eastern_michigan_ohio.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Results<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Michigan Men Beat Purdue;
