THIS morning we will bring you the results of the prelims in real time &#8212; as they happen.<\/p>\n<p>This morning&#39;s schedule of events:<\/p>\n<p>200 medley relay<br \/>\n400 individual medley<br \/>\n1oo butterfly<br \/>\n200 free<br \/>\n100 breast<br \/>\n100 back<br \/>\n800 free relay<\/p>\n<p><b>200 yard medley relay<\/b><br \/>\nHeat one of three: Arizona wins in 1:39.35.  Stanford is second in 1:39.50 followed by Texas in 1:39.90.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 2: On the strength of its back half, George wins in 1:39.86.  Penn State follows in 1:40.69 with Michigan third in 1:41.12.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 3:  Natalie Coughlin gives Cal the lead with 24.15 backstroke leg.  Stacianna Stitts keeps the Bears in front at 52.26 at the 100.  Cal hold s on at 150, Auburn coming up fast.  At the touch it&#39;s Auburn, 1:38.26, followed by Cal, 1:39.25 and Florida, 1:39.65.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifiers: A Final: 1. Auburn, 2. Cal, 3. Arizona, 4. Stanford, 5. Florida, 6. Georgia, 7. Texas, 8. SMU.<br \/>\nB Final: 9. Penn State, 10. USC, 11. Michigan, 12. Purdue, 13. Pacific, 14. Alabama, 15. ASU. 16. UCLA.<\/p>\n<p><b>400 yard individual medley<\/b><br \/>\nMaggie Bowen, defending champion, is the favorite.  Other likely contenders: Alenka Kejzar (SMU), Michala Kwasny (USC), Kaitlin Sandeno (USC), Sara McLarty (Florida), Kristen Caverly (Stanford0.  There are six heats.  It should take about 4:13.0 to make A finals.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 1: Kate Wrenshall (Virginia), 4:20.20, Anna Trinidad (Wisconsin), 4:21.17.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 2: Virginia&#39;s Cara Lane took the lead at the start and has held it over Levavi (Maryland) and Buck (Georgia).  Lane moves ahead on the free to win. At the finish it&#39;s:  Lane, 4:15.01; Stephanie Buck, 4:16.44, Levavi, 4:21.70.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 3: Univ. of San Diego frosh Ashley Swart is the surprise leader in lane 6 through 300.  At the wall: Swart in 4:16.28, Katie Yevak (Georgia) 4:17.78, Katie Gordon 4:18.17.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 4, the first of the three seeded heats: At the 100, Florida&#39;s Sara McLarty leads Kaitlin Sandeno at 57.40 to 57.60; at the 200, it&#39;s still McLarty, lengthening her lead over USC&#39;s Sandeno, 2:00.24 to 2:01.28.  Virginia&#39;s Bosevska is making a move on the breaststroke, but the 1-2-3 spots remain the same: McLarty 3:12.52, Sandeno 3:13.71, Bosevska 3:15.39.<br \/>\nAt the wall, it&#39;s McLarty 4:09.77, Sandeno 4:11.36, Bosevska 4:13.35 &#8212; the three fastest times thus far.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 5: Maggie Bowen, the defending champ is in lane 4, flanked by Beth Pendleton of Wisconsin in 3, Michala Kwasny of USC in 5.  At the 100, Emily Mason of Arizona is well out ahead in 55.27.  At the 200 it&#39;s still Mason, 1:57.78, followed by Bowen at 1:58.17 and Kwasny.  Here comes Bowen!  At the 300 it&#39;s Bowen at 3:08.84 with Mason at 3:10.86.  Bowen wins in 4:07.90, with Mason 4:09.74 &#8212; the top two times thus far &#8212; and Auburn&#39;s Lauren Duerek in lane 2 at 4:14.00.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 6: At the 200 it&#39;s Florida&#39;s Jamie Reid in lane six in the lead.  Kejzar in 4 and Caverly in 5 have moved into a tie at 250.  At the 300, it&#39;s Alenka Kejzar (SMU), followed by Stanford&#39;s Caverly  and Indiana&#39;s Brooke Taflinger.  At the wall, it&#39;s Caverly, 4:11.23; Kejzar, 4:11.35; and Taflinger, 4:15.38.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifiers, A Final: Bowen, Mason, McLarty, Caverly, Kejzar, Sandeno, Bosevska and Duerk.<br \/>\nB Final: Lane, Kwasny, Taflinger, Swart, Maddy Crippen (Villanova), Pendleton, Amy Baly (Virginia), Andrea Cassidy (SMU).<\/p>\n<p><b>100 yard butterfly<\/b><br \/>\nThere are 7 heats.  Top seed is American\/NCAA record-holder Natalie Coughlin. Top seed: Stanford&#39;s Tara Kirk, the defending champion and only swimmer ever under 59 seconds.  It should take just under 1:01.0 to make A finals, about 1:02.0 to make B finals.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 1: Sarah Lo, Missouri, wins in 1:03.12.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 2: Kirsten Gilbert (Stan), 1:02.10;  Becky Acker (UNC), 1:022.95; Lindsey Wilson (PSU), 1:03.04.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 3: A battle between two Europeans: Kovacs (Hungary) and Poleska (Germany).  Winner is Kovacs (ASU), 1:00.41; Poleska (Alabama), 1:00.77; Corrie clark (SMU), 1:01.73.<\/p>\n<p>Heat 4: Another European, Germany&#39;s Sarah Poewe, formerly a South African, should win the heat.
