She was the only swimmer to break four minutes during the prelims session.<\/p>\n<p>The final will be loaded with U.S. swimmers as <strong>Bella Sims<\/strong> took the second seed (4:00.20), followed by <strong>Erin Gemmell<\/strong> (4:01.35), <strong>Claire Weinstein<\/strong> (4:02.26), <strong>Hali Flickinger<\/strong> (4:02.41), <strong>Jillian Cox<\/strong> (4:06.18), <strong>Katie Grimes<\/strong> (4:06.23) and <strong>Alexa Reyn<\/strong>a (4:06.93).<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s 400 free is also loaded. USA\u2019s <strong>Kieran Smith<\/strong> took the top spot in 3:41.69, holding off<strong> Jake Magahey<\/strong> (3:42.60) and Lithuania\u2019s<strong> Danas Rapsys<\/strong> (3:43.23).<\/p>\n<p>The final will also see USA\u2019<strong>s Drew Kibler<\/strong> (3:43.68), South Africa\u2019s <strong>Matthew Sates<\/strong> (3:44.17), Netherlands\u2019 <strong>Luc Kroon<\/strong> (3:44.77) and Great Britain\u2019s <strong>Duncan Scott<\/strong> (3:45.10).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fina.org\/competitions\/2958\/fina-swimming-world-cup-2022\/results?discipline=&amp;event=fc3ba0ac-f6b8-4771-8353-4556e798e71e&amp;unit=heats-summary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Results<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the 50 backstroke, Sweden\u2019s <strong>Louise Hansson<\/strong> was first to the wall in 26.32 She will be joined in the final by Canada\u2019s <strong>Kylie Masse (<\/strong>26.43), Netherland\u2019s <strong>Kira Toussaint<\/strong> (26.48), USA\u2019s <strong>Abbey Weitzeil<\/strong> (26.61) &#8211; who made her debut in the FINA World Cup Indianapolis stop &#8211; Canada\u2019s <strong>Ingrid Wilm<\/strong> (26.69). <strong>Beata Nelson (<\/strong>26.97) snuck into the final with the seventh seed and could have a lot left with her short-course power.<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s 200 backstroke, Poland\u2019s <strong>Kacper Stokowski<\/strong> took the top spot with a 1:51.71. Strong swims also got <strong>Brendan Burns<\/strong> (1:52.90), Puerto Rico\u2019s <strong>Yeziel<\/strong> <strong>Morales<\/strong> (1:52.90) and USA\u2019s <strong>Shaine Casas<\/strong> (1:53.04) into the finals.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s 200 butterfly, Canada\u2019s<strong> Summer McIntosh<\/strong> got to the wall first with a 2:06.84.<strong> Alex Shackell<\/strong> was next at 2:07.06, followed by two U.S. stars who competed in the 400 free less than an hour before. <strong>Katie Grimes<\/strong> took the third seed in 2:07.30, followed by<strong> Hali Flickinge<\/strong>r (2:07.50). It will be interesting to see how much they have left in the tank tonight doing finals in two of the more grueling events.<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s 100 butterfly looks to have an interesting showdown on tap. Japan\u2019s <strong>Takeshi Kawamoto<\/strong> took the first seed in 49.87, just ahead of South Africa\u2019s <strong>Chad le Clos<\/strong> (49.91), USA\u2019s Luca <strong>Urlando<\/strong> (50.10), Germany\u2019s<strong> Marius Kusch<\/strong> (50.37) and Australia\u2019s<strong> Matthew Temple<\/strong> (50.40).<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s 200 breaststroke, Canada put four in the finals at the FINA World Cup stop with <strong>Sydney Pickrem<\/strong> leading the field at 2:21.33. USA\u2019s <strong>Lilly King<\/strong> took the second seed at 2:21.68, just ahead of Slovakia\u2019s<strong> Andrea Podmanikova<\/strong> (2:22.22), Canada\u2019s <strong>Kelsey Wog<\/strong> (2:23.17), USA\u2019s <strong>Annie Lazor<\/strong> (2:23.58) and Canada\u2019s <strong>Tessa<\/strong> <strong>Cieplucha<\/strong> (2:24.25).<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s 100 breaststroke, the U.S. took the top three seeds. <strong>Nic Fink<\/strong> touched the wall in 57.54, just ahead of <strong>Cody Miller<\/strong> (57.75) and <strong>Reece Whitley<\/strong> (57.94). The trio was the only group to break 58 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s 50 free is absolutely loaded with speed. Poland\u2019<strong>s Kasia Wasick<\/strong> was first to the wall during the heats with a 23.57, just ahead of USA\u2019s <strong>Abbey<\/strong> <strong>Weitzeil<\/strong> (23.75). Australia\u2019s<strong> Madison Wilson<\/strong> took the third spot (23.85), followed by Hong Kong\u2019s<strong> Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> (23.99), France\u2019s<strong> Beryl Gastaldello<\/strong> (24.08), USA\u2019s<strong> Gabi Albiero<\/strong> (24.31), <strong>Natalie Hinds<\/strong> (34.47) and <strong>Linnea Mack<\/strong> (24.56).<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s 50 free also has plenty of star power. Trinidad and Tobago\u2019s <strong>Dylan Carter<\/strong> had the fastest swim of the morning at 21.03. USA\u2019s <strong>Justin Ress<\/strong> was just behind at 21.35, followed by Australia\u2019s <strong>Kyle Chalmers<\/strong> (21.41), Egypt\u2019s <strong>Ali Khalafalla<\/strong> (21.50), Hong Kong\u2019s Ian Ho (21.62) and USA\u2019s Hunter Armstrong (21.62).<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s 100 IM will see some stars in a non-ordinary event at the FINA World Cup. Israel\u2019s <strong>Anastasia Gorbenko<\/strong> took the top seed in 58.79, just a hundredth of a second ahead of USA\u2019s <strong>Beata Nelson<\/strong> (58.80). Sweden\u2019s L<strong>ouise Hansson<\/strong> took the third spot in 58.84, just ahead of USA\u2019s <strong>Izzy Ivey<\/strong> (59.05), USA\u2019s Leah Hayes (59.36), France\u2019s <strong>Beryl Gastaldello<\/strong> (59.38), Canada\u2019s<strong> Sydney Pickrem<\/strong> (59.51) and Lithuania\u2019s <strong>Ruta Meilutyte<\/strong> (59.67).<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s 100 IM saw USA and Canada\u2019s top stars take the stage. USA\u2019s <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> took the top seed in 52.02, followed by Canada\u2019s <strong>Finlay Knox<\/strong> (52.06) and<strong> Javier Acevedo<\/strong> (52.45).
