Coming off world junior records in the 400-meter freestyle and 400 individual medley at the Toronto stop of the series, McIntosh will contest a different set of events at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/the-legendary-indiana-natatorium-an-appreciation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revered Indiana University Natatorium<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In Indianapolis, McIntosh will race the 50 butterfly, 200 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 800 freestyle. Based on her form from last week, the 16-year-old is expected to threaten the world junior records in the 200 butterfly and 200 freestyle. The WJR in the 200 fly sits at 2:02.96, while the 200 free standard is 1:52.85.<\/p>\n<p>McIntosh is the reigning world champion in the 200 fly and has been as fast as 2:05.20 in the long-course version of the event. As for the 200 freestyle, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/summer-mcintosh-edges-katie-ledecky-in-400-freestyle-at-world-cup-in-toronto-swims-are-no-2-and-no-3-all-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">McIntosh\u2019s performance of 3:52.80 in the 400 freestyle<\/a> from Toronto, where she edged <strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong>, suggests that she\u2019ll make a strong run at the WJR, if not easily lower the mark.<\/p>\n<p>Ledecky and McIntosh will clash again in Indianapolis, this time in the 800 freestyle, where American rising teen <strong>Katie Grimes<\/strong> is also entered. Ledecky is expected to better the world record in the event, which is held by Spain\u2019s <strong>Mireia Belmonte<\/strong>.
