FEDERAL WAY, Washington, March 16. Three meet records fell on the final night of the Speedo Federal Way Sectionals.<\/p>\n
Patrick Mulcare of Tualatin Hills set a new meet record in the men’s 200 IM, posting a personal best time of 1:46.51. Aces’ John Bushman put up a 1:48.55 for second, while Cascade’s Abrahm DeVine clocked in at 1:48.65 for third.<\/p>\n
Roland Schoeman can add a Western Sectionals meet record to his list of accomplishments. The South African, representing Phoenix Swim Club, clocked in at 19.24 to win the 50 free, one one-hundredth of a second under the old meet record of 19.25. Fifteen-year old Ryan Hoffer of Scottsdale Aquatic touched second in 19.71. King Aquatics’ Thomas Anderson, also fifteen, posted a personal best of 20.10 for third.<\/p>\n
The final meet record of the night came in the final event of the night, with the top three teams in the men’s 400 medley all clearing the previous record of 3:19.47. Phoenix Swim Club (Maxwell Montour, Roland Schoeman, JJ Osborn, and Ryan McCoy) touched in 3:17.45 for first. King Aquactics (Thomas Anderson, Keith Schendel, Mathias Oh, Tommy Thach) clocked in at 3:17.74 for second. Bellevue (Todd McCarthy, Morgan Ciliv, Brandon Nguyen, Edward Kim) posted a 3:19.28 for third.<\/p>\n
Fort Collins’ Bailey Nero touched first in the women’s 200 IM with a personal best time of 2:00.65. Mackenzi Rumrill of the Bearcats hit the wall second in a personal best time of 2:00.74. Kimberley Williams of Bellevue clocked in at 2:01.60 for third.<\/p>\n
Jeffco Hurricanes’ Madeline Myers won her fourth event of the meet in the women’s mile, posting a personal best of 16:20.76 for first. Boulder’s Amanda Richey touched second in a personal best of 16:20.84. Thirteen-year old Taylor Ruck of Scottsdale finished third, knocking an incredible 45 seconds off her personal best with her time of 16:40.04.<\/p>\n
Antonio Ramirez of Arizona Gold won the men’s mile with a personal best time of 15:19.14. Corvallis Aquatics’ Brandon Shreeve, who will swim at the University of Utah next year, put up a personal best of 15:21.82 to take second. Arizona Gold’s Ben Olszewski dropped an amazing 56 seconds to take third with a time of 15:30.12.<\/p>\n
Ann Ochitwa of the Denver Swim Academy was the only swimmer under 23 seconds in the women’s 50 putting up a 22.83. Samantha Fazio of Scottsdale Aquatic touched in 23.04 for second, just edging out her teammate Victoria Toris, who went 23.05.<\/p>\n
King Aquatics’ women (Hannah Weiss, Carolyn McCann, Kenna Ramey, Morgan Ginnis) won the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:37.94. Tualatin Hills (Cassidy Brennan, Prudence Rooker, Sara Metzsch, Keaton Blovad) placed second with a time of 3:43.54. King Aquatics’ B-relay (Heidi Vanderwel, Alyssa Cook, Kyndal Phillips, Ashley Sutherland) took third with a time of 3:44.42.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
