THE final night of action at the Plantation, Fla. stop of the Speedo Champions Series is in the books. It proved to be another exciting night of swimming as 14-year-old Michael Andrew added another National Age Group record to his collection and Club Wolverine’s Emily Brunemann and Michael Klueh earned their third and fourth wins of the weekend, respectively.

After turning fifth at the halfway point of the women’s 200 fly, Gator Swim Club’s Kahra Williams built the last one hundred meters and chased down Swim Fort Lauderdale’s Josefin Lorda Taylor for the title, 2:19.22 to 2:19.71. Loyola Blakefield’s Mary Clancy rounded out the top three in 2:21.38. On the men’s side, Toronto Swim Club’s Zach Chetrat led from start to finish, taking the win in 2:02.50. Castro Ortega got to the wall ahead of Michalak in the women’s 100 free, 56.44 to 56.83. Michalak won the 200 and 400 IM and 100 fly earlier in the meet. Clara Smiddy of the AquaKids Sharks claimed third place honors in 57.34. Club Wolverine’s Miguel Ortiz topped the men’s 100 free in 50.72 after posting a 50.00 this morning.
