{"id":514686,"date":"2022-10-19T09:37:53","date_gmt":"2022-10-19T16:37:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=514686"},"modified":"2022-10-20T06:05:07","modified_gmt":"2022-10-20T13:05:07","slug":"usa-swimming-releases-short-course-world-championships-roster-led-by-torri-huske-ryan-murphy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/usa-swimming-releases-short-course-world-championships-roster-led-by-torri-huske-ryan-murphy\/","title":{"rendered":"A Look At the Team USA Roster For the World Short Course Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>USA Swimming, the National Governing Body of the sport of swimming in the United States, today released its roster for the 2022 FINA World Championships (25m), which take s place December 13 &#8211; 18 at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre in Melbourne, Australia .<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>The roster features 16 Olympians , including <strong>Ryan Murphy<\/strong> (Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida\/California Aquatics), <strong>Torri Huske<\/strong> (Arlington, Virginia\/Stanford University),<strong> Michael Andrew<\/strong> (Encinitas, California\/MA Swim Academy) ,<strong> Hali Flickinger<\/strong> (York, Pennsylvania\/Sun Devil Swimming),<strong> Nic Fink<\/strong> (Morristown, New Jersey\/Metro Atlantic Aquatic Club) and <strong>Rhyan White<\/strong> (Herriman, Utah\/University of Alabama\/WFFM) , among others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Multiple reigning short course world champions will be representing the U.S. again, including Fink, White and <strong>Shaine Casas<\/strong> (McAllen, Texas\/Longhorn Aquatics). Last year\u2019s U.S. roster led the medal table with nine gold, nine silver and 12 bronze for 30 total medals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2022-usa-swimming-roster-for-short-course-worlds\/international-elite\/2022\/October\/19?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Full roster<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited to take this group to Australia and see them compete,\u201d USA Swimming National Team Managing Director <strong>Lindsay Mintenko<\/strong> said. \u201cThe se athletes had terrific seasons and we\u2019re looking forward to seeing how they perform in a short &#8211; course setting on such a large stage. University), <strong>David Johnston<\/strong> (Dallas, Texas\/University of Texas),<strong> Jake Foster<\/strong> (Cincinnati, Ohio\/University of Texas\/Mason Manta Rays), <strong>Erin Gemmell<\/strong> (Potomac, Maryland\/Nation\u2019s Capital Swim Club) and <strong>Jillian Cox<\/strong> (Cedar Park, Texas\/University of Texas).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>This year\u2019s team will be led by head coach<strong> Braden Holloway<\/strong> (NC State) and assist ant coaches
