The Crimson Tide women were led by fifth-year swimmers\u00a0<strong>Rhyan White<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Morgan Scott<\/strong>, who won two individual events each. White, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-championships-kaylee-mckeown-times-finish-to-perfection-to-win-200-back-bacon-white-get-usa-2-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this year&#8217;s World Championships bronze medalist in the 200-meter backstroke<\/a>, touched first in the 100-yard back (52.89) and 100 butterfly (53.95) against South Carolina, and she also joined teammates\u00a0<strong>Avery Wiseman<\/strong>, Scott and\u00a0<strong>Kalia Antoniou\u00a0<\/strong>in the Crimson Tide&#8217;s 200 medley relay win.<\/p>\n<p>The Alabama men were also led by veteran talent with\u00a0<strong>Derek Maas<\/strong> helping his teammates to a medley relay win before also claiming first place in the 100 breaststroke (53.52) and 200 IM (1:47.50).<\/p>\n<p>Read the <a href=\"https:\/\/rolltide.com\/news\/2022\/10\/15\/swimming-diving-follow-alabama-swimming-and-diving-on-instagram-twitter-and-facebook-at-alabamaswimdive.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">full press release<\/a> from Alabama below:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Alabama men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s swimming and diving teams swept the South Carolina Gamecocks to open the Crimson Tide home schedule Saturday morning at the Alabama Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>The Alabama women won 190.5-109.5 while the men outscored the Gamecocks 179-116. The women won both relays and 10 individual events, while the men also won both relays to go with nine individual races.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Head Coach Margo Geer\u00a0Said<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;That was a great way to open our home schedule. Both our men and women had some challenges this week, but we came out with a lot of spirit and got the job done. We had some strong performances from our rookies and veterans alike and that carried us through. Now we have to get back to work, get ready for LSU and keep moving forward.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Alabama Wins &#8211; Men<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Alabama opened the meet with a 1-2 finish in the 200 medley relay with\u00a0<strong>Matt Menke<\/strong>, <strong>Derek Maas<\/strong>, <strong>Bernardo Bondra de Almeida <\/strong>and <strong>Tom Korstanje<\/strong>\u00a0getting the win with a 1:26.59<\/li>\n<li>Menke, Korstanje,\u00a0<strong>Kacper Piotrowski<\/strong> and <strong>Kaique Alves<\/strong>closed the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay, going 2:55.93<\/li>\n<li>Korstanje clocked a 20.37 in the 50 freestyle to earn his first individual win for the Tide<\/li>\n<li>Maas went 53.52 to win the 100 breaststroke and a 1:47.50 to win the 200 individual medley<\/li>\n<li>Menke won the 100 backstroke by two seconds, going 46.68 while Bondra de Almeida won the 100 butterfly after clocking a 47.79<\/li>\n<li>Alves won the 200 freestyle with a 1:36.08 before leading a 1-5 Tide sweep of the 100 freestyle, going 43.86<\/li>\n<li><strong>Michael Deans<\/strong><dfn><\/dfn>\u00a0went 2:02.11 to take top honors in the 200 breaststroke<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eric Stelmar<\/strong><dfn><\/dfn>\u00a0gets the men&#8217;s 200 back win with a 1:46.73<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Alabama Wins &#8211; Women<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rhyan White<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Avery Wiseman<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Morgan Scott<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Kalia Antoniou <\/strong>opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay, going 1:38.24 to finish more than three seconds ahead of second place<\/li>\n<li>Antoniou,<strong> Cora Dupre<\/strong>, <strong>Diana Petkova<\/strong> and <strong>Kailyn Winter <\/strong>combined to win the 400 free relay with a 3:21.43, closing out the meet and the Gamecocks<\/li>\n<li>White won the 100 backstroke (52.89) and 100 butterfly (53.95)<\/li>\n<li>Scott won the 200 individual medley (2:01.78) and 100 freestyle (49.95) while Antoniou went 22.55 to win the 50 freestyle<\/li>\n<li><strong>Lockett Bowley<\/strong><dfn><\/dfn>\u00a0got her first Crimson Tide win, going 2:01.01 to take top honors in the 200 butterfly<\/li>\n<li>Wiseman won the 100 breaststroke with a 1:01.63 while <strong>Cat Wright<\/strong><dfn><\/dfn>\u00a0touched the wall first with a 2:14.90 to win the 200 breaststroke<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Kensey McMahon <\/strong>notched a 29-second win in
