{"id":514422,"date":"2022-10-15T17:08:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-16T00:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=514422"},"modified":"2022-10-15T17:08:00","modified_gmt":"2022-10-16T00:08:00","slug":"cal-swims-past-washington-state-isabelle-stadden-breaks-pool-record","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/cal-swims-past-washington-state-isabelle-stadden-breaks-pool-record\/","title":{"rendered":"Cal Swims Past Washington State, Isabelle Stadden Breaks Pool Record"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cal junior <strong>Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> set a pool record in the 100-yard backstroke and senior <strong>Eloise Riley<\/strong> was a four-time winner as the Cal women&#8217;s swimming &amp; diving team defeated Washington State 167-94 in a Pac-12 dual meet at Gibb Pool on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Stadden, who won the bronze medal in the 100 back at the Phillips 66 National Championships last summer, finished the race in 53.90 \u2013 eclipsing the previous Gibb Pool record of 54.37 set last year by Utah&#8217;s <strong>Ema Broome<\/strong>. She also helped Cal set another pool record in the 400 freestyle relay as she teamed up with Riley, <strong>McKenna Stone<\/strong> and <strong>Ayla Spitz<\/strong> for a time of 3:21.92. That mark shattered the previous record 3:24.33 set by Utah last season.<\/p>\n<p>Not only did Riley also swim the anchor leg on Cal&#8217;s winning 200 medley relay team that finished in a time of 1:41.59, she claimed victories in the 50 free (23.55) and 100 free (50.53). Riley also won the 100 free during the Bears&#8217; dual meet victory over Utah on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/college\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More college news<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cal senior <strong>Rachel Klinker<\/strong> was a double-winner for the Bears, taking the 200 butterfly in a time of 1:59.22 and the 500 freestyle with a mark of 5:01.30.<\/p>\n<p>Senior <strong>Ayla Spitz<\/strong> was part of both of Cal&#8217;s winning relays teams while also prevailing in the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:49.30.<\/p>\n<p>Cal took the top four spots in the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free. Cal also went 1-2-3 in the 100 butterfly, with sophomore <strong>Lizzy Cook<\/strong> getting the win with a time of 55.09.<\/p>\n<p>Cal senior<strong> Sarah Dimeco<\/strong> won the 1000 free in a time of 10:18.46.<\/p>\n<p>Washington State freshman<strong> Emily Lundgren<\/strong> continued her impressive start to her Cougar career, posting two wins against Cal after claiming the 100 and 200 breast.
