Honorees must maintain a minimum 3.5 grade point average from Sept. 1, 2021-Aug. 31, 2022, and also meet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaswimming.org\/times\/popular-resources\/scholastic-all-america\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">competition criteria<\/a> (for pool swimmers, it\u2019s a Winter Junior Nationals qualifying time in 2022, with different thresholds for open water and for swimmers with disabilities).<\/p>\n<p>The full list of 2021-22 Scholastic All-Americans <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/usa-swimming-2021-22-scholastic-all-america-team\/high-school\/2022\/October\/13?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">is available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the athletes to attain perfect scores \u2013 i.e. an event championship and a 4.0 GPA \u2013 are <strong>Baylor Nelson<\/strong> and Olympian <strong>Katie Grimes.<\/strong> Grimes, a Las Vegas native, won the 10-kilometer swim at the U.S. Open Water Championships (in addition to a pair of silver medals in the pool at the 2022 FINA World Championships). Nelson, a native of Huntersville, N.C., claimed the 200 individual medley at the 2021 U.S. Open.<\/p>\n<p>Nelson\u2019s North Carolina Swimming leads the way in terms of total honorees, with 99 athletes. It also includes both of the clubs supplying the most athletes to the list, SwimMAC Carolina (28 athletes) and TAC Titans (24). Southern California Swimming is second with 79 honorees.<\/p>\n<p>The list includes five open-water athletes and 11 athletes with disabilities, who are included in the program for just the second time.<\/p>\n<p>All athletes honored will receive a commemorative bag tag and certificates.
