{"id":514314,"date":"2022-10-13T09:07:59","date_gmt":"2022-10-13T16:07:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=514314"},"modified":"2022-10-13T09:07:59","modified_gmt":"2022-10-13T16:07:59","slug":"cal-women-top-utah-behind-isabelle-staddens-four-wins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/cal-women-top-utah-behind-isabelle-staddens-four-wins\/","title":{"rendered":"Cal Women Top Utah Behind Isabelle Stadden&#8217;s Four Wins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Cal Women Top Utah Behind Isabelle Stadden&#8217;s Four Wins<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Cal junior <strong>Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> was a four-time winner and <strong>Eloise Riley<\/strong> won three times as the Cal women&#8217;s swimming &amp; diving team opened up the Pac-12 dual meet season with a 169-123 victory over Utah on Wednesday afternoon at Spieker Aquatics Complex.<\/p>\n<p>Stadden won the 50-yard freestyle event in 23.02, narrowly beating out teammates <strong>McKenna Stone<\/strong> (23.10),<strong> Emily Gantriis<\/strong> (23.16) and <strong>Ella Mazurek<\/strong> (23.20). Stadden also captured the 200 breaststroke with a mark of 1:52.96 while swimming on Cal&#8217;s winning relay teams in the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/college\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More college news<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Riley took home wins in the 100 freestyle (50.19) and 200 freestyle (1:49.47) and led off Cal&#8217;s victory in the 200 free relay, teaming up with Gantriis, Stadden and Mazurek for the win.<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore <strong>Fanni Fabian<\/strong> had a strong performance in the distance freestyle events for Cal, claiming victory in the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:55.85 and the 1000 free with a mark of 10:04.97.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ayla Spitz<\/strong> (100 backstroke), <strong>Jade Neser<\/strong> (100 breaststroke), <strong>Leah Polonsky<\/strong> (200 butterfly) and <strong>Alicia Henry<\/strong> (200 breaststroke) all also claimed victories for the Bears.<\/p>\n<p>The Bears took the top three spots in four of the races.<\/p>\n<p>Cal returns to the water Saturday morning with another Pac-12 dual meet at Washington State&#8217;s Gibb Pool.
