PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wisconsin, March 14. Fifteen-year old Tevyn Waddell of Mitchell Aquatic, sixteen-year old Sydney Angell of the Piranhas, and Harvard’s Christian Carbone won two events each on the second night of finals at the Speedo Pleasant Prairie Sectionals.<\/p>\n
Waddell put up a personal best of 56.02 to win the women’s 100 back. Lane Four Aquatic’s Alexa Harris took second with a 56.12, while the Sea Devils’ Kasey Roberts touched in 56.26 for third place and a personal best for the future Iowa State swimmer.<\/p>\n
Waddell won her second event of the night and third of the meet so far in the 200 free with a personal best of 1:50.71. Black Hawk’s Brittany Moffatt posted a 1:51.58 for second, and fourteen-year old Monica Gumina of Johnston Blaze clocked in at 1:52.62 for third.<\/p>\n
Angell’s first win came in the 100 breast, with a personal best time of 1:02.51. Fourteen-year old Emma Cain of Aspen took second with a 1:02.62, and the Sea Devils’ Amber Eckstein placed third with a time of 1:04.14.<\/p>\n
Angell won the 200 IM as well, hitting the wall in 2:03.25 for a personal best. Sea Devils’ Kasey Roberts took second with a 2:03.82, touching just ahead of Peoria Area Water Wizards’ Rachael Klech (2:03.94).<\/p>\n
Carbone won his first of two events in the 100 breast, posting a 56.93 for first. Munster’s Joey Gardner clocked in at 57.12 for second, while New Hope Crystal Plymouth’s Brenner Hohenstein took third with a 57.39.<\/p>\n
Carbone’s second win came in the 200 IM, touching in 1:50.20. Alex Walton of the Iowa City Eels placed second with a personal best time of 1:51.28. James Beckman of Munster City clocked in at 1:54.38 for third and a new personal best.<\/p>\n
Alex Walton took the men’s 100 back with a personal best of 49.75. Chris Neaveill of the Peoria Area Water Wizards posted a 50.02 for second, just ahead of Iowa Flyers’ Mark McGlaughlin, who touched in 50.12.<\/p>\n
Kenneth Stirling of Life Time Arizona put up a personal best of 1:39.44 to win the men’s 200 free. Colorado Stars’ James Boone took second with a personal best time of 1:41.60. James Beckman rounded out the top three with a five-second improvement on his personal best with a time of 1:41.74.<\/p>\n
Kelsey Drake of Cedar Rapids Aquatic won the women’s 100 fly with a personal best time of 54.90. Pulaski’s Corrin Van Lanen touched second with a 55.31, and Tevyn Waddell clocked in at 55.74 for third place and a new personal best.<\/p>\n
Chris Neaveill posted a 49.31 to win the men’s 100 fly. Mark McGlaughlin and Chris’ brother Tyler Neaveill tied for second. Both men hit the wall in 50.91, which is a personal best for McGlaughlin.<\/p>\n
The Colorado Stars (Emily Vasquez, Mackenzie Ammon, Lindsay Painton, Madi Dirks) won the 800 free relay with a time of 7:40.06. The Black Hawks (Shelby Cline, Brittany Moffatt, Olivia Clark, Madison Hall) took second with a 7:41.92. Blackline Aquatics (Megan Wenman, Caroline Gaertner, Olivia Johnston, Erin Bucki) clocked in at 7:46.61 for third.<\/p>\n
The Colorado Stars men (James Boone, TJ Konde, Tristan Mosby, Austin Phillips) won the 800 free relay as well with a time of 6:52.59. Lifetime Arizona (Austin Drummond, Weston Miller, Triston Ferguson, Kenneth Stirling) posted a 6:53.21 for second. The Peoria Area Water Wizards (Matt Kamin, Alex Bousky, Chris Neaveill, Austin Bennett) claimed third with a time of 6:57.62.<\/p>\n
After three nights of finals, the Colorado Stars lead on combined points with 379. Lifetime Arizona sit second with 253, while the Peoria Area Water Wizards hold third with 250 points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
